    What would you do?

I had a morbid and terrifying thought this afternoon... after reading one too many articles on animal abuse and cruelty, I had the wretched thought of what would happen if someone decided to target any one (or god forbid ALL) of my monsters.

What would I do? Would I become a puddle of mush not able to respond or become an angered tower of vengence? Somewhere in the middle?

I would *hope* that I'd be strong and enlist help of the media to expose my story to the world and in the end catch the people (would they deserve to be called people?) responsible for hurting my cats. I'd like to be the voice for my animals that didn't have a voice. Share my numerous pictures and videos for the city to fall in love with my catds. Then stun them with images of the violence my pets met, and make a city of people rise up to fight with me.

But I honeslty don't know if Id have the fortitude to stand up and do that. I think I'd be too numb from grief.

Kim, what have you been watching on TV? Where did these thoughts come from? Nothing bad is going to ever happen to your babies and you would handle any situation in the right way.
I know when our house was broken into I froze right outside the door. The door was standing open and glass was all over the floor. I just knew that my cats had been tortured and killed by some maniac. I started to cry before I ever went in but then I thought that one of them could be hurt and I suddenly went charging in. I didn't care about the house and went on a mission to find all of the cats. Thank God no one was hurt but I will never ever forget that sick and terrifiying feeling that hit my stomach that day.
Anyway, my point is that we hear only the most horrible these days and we know bad things happen. I would just like to believe that it's not as prevelant as we are led to believe. As far as burglars go, mine was animal friendly! I thank God every day for that. I don't care that he took material things that can never be replaced.

I guess it's hard to say what we would do under any terrible circumstance until it happens. All I know is I would fight like H#!! against ANYONE that put harm on my babies!!
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

After the shock wears off, THEN the anger would set in.. heaps and mountains of ANGER and I would be screaming from the rooftops, passing out flyers, calling the TV stations, newspapers and anyone else that I could

LOL... thank God for small favors! I just was struck with that awful thought this afternoon. My guys know only love and affection. All but Abby greet people that come to the house - they are all so trusting and friendly. To think that someone would violate that trust!!!

Now I'm going to make mysef sick with the thought of harm that certainly would never come to them.

I have to tell you Kim that if he had hurt one of them I can promise you that I would have tracked him down and that I would have been able to do things to him that I would never think I could be able to do to a human!
My brother is on the police force here and I would have made sure that I got some inside info and tortured the SOB until I wore out!

Ok, now you've got me mad over something that didn't and WON'T happen!

    Sorry
I think we'd all have every PTer at our side to make easier the job of inflicting pain on the #^&#% who hurt our cats.
