    Tubby.....where are you?

Last weekend the sun was streaming in the big South facing windows. Tubby just adores laying in the sun. We were leaving and I always like to get a visual on T & P before we walk out the door. Peanut was upstairs in her bed, no problem. But I noticed that I hadn't seen Tubby for awhile. So I go upstairs to check - no Tubby. Come back downstairs, grab the treat can and start shaking - no Tubby. Go in the basement, calling his name, shaking the treat can - no Tubby. Go back upstairs, another glance in the living room on my way to the bedroom - nope. Check out the guest bathroom and guest bedroom - nope. Starting to get worried, I head back upstairs to the loft to see if maybe he's behind the couch or something - he rarely sleeps behind the couch and you guessed it - no Tubby. I'm walking back down the stairs, really starting to get worried now and what do I spy?

Two little black legs poking out from behind the secretary - can you see them? If not, you can see why I missed them a million times.

I go over and this is what I see. This is what I call his "dead to the world" pose.

And this is his "Ok, I'm awake, what do you want?" pose.

And here he is waking up. I didn't get the first part on film, but I just put some treats by his nose and let them wake him up. It's so funny because he's dead to the world, then the nose twitches once and he's awake and 1/2 second later the treats are gone.

Oh Tubby! That is one of Edwina's favorite games....hide from mummy! And of course....it is most fun to "hide in plain sight!"

And here are some random pics.

He's such a creature of habit. Every morning he comes in the bathroom by me while I dry my hair and get ready. Since it was Saturday, my timing was not the same - but Tubby's was. Here he is, just sitting by the bathroom door waiting for me.

Here he is helping me with my homework. He doesn't really sit up straight anymore, but this is an extreme picture of how he sits these days. He sat like this for at least an hour, meowing every now and then to remind me to pet him.

Looks like a seal in this one.

And in this video, I was giving Peanut some catnip and filming her when I hear this noise. I look over and Tubby is all over the catnip bag.

Tubby.....did you by chance come to CT on Saturday and teach Gracie how to hide???

Debbie, the same thing happened to me on Saturday. I was doing my weekly house cleaning and Gracie disappeared. I got soooo nervous. I ran through the house calling her name, shaking her toys and her treat can but NO Gracie.....she came from the upstairs after about 10 minutes.....of course by then I was out of my mind.

I imagine panic when you weren't seeing him! He sure looks like he was enjoying a nice afternoon nap!
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

Tubby, de-materializing in full sight is a trick Filou can do too!

Being a black kitty in a white house you must however be extra clever to do it

Boy can I ever relate! Poor Tubby....did Meowmie disrupt your dreams? Speckles knows what that's all about! And hiding on Meowmie....tsk tsk.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

That was really unexpected funny seeing his face so grumpy when woken up.Me and my husband both laughed hard. They really are like humans aren't they. You are like me about panicking when looking for the cats before leaving the house. Now my husband is worse than me.He does a head count every night before bed.Too funny. And ALL our cats are indoors. And I thought I was overprotective.

Thank You Kim for this wonderful siggy
