    T & J flea update!

My poor babies. I got some frontline from the vet yesterday and put the medicine on them last night.
My poor Tinky sat under the coffee table and sulked a little...
But Jupiter didn't care at all..

Today my poor Jupiter had about 3 fleas sitting on his poor little face... I guess they were trying to get away from the medicine.. but T and J both were scratchin their poor little faces. I was gonna grab his neck and pick them off but I didn't think I should be touching the medicine..

I hope they are better soon... it makes me sad to see them scratching!

It should do the job and kill all those nasty fleas but you may need to fog your house to get rid of the flea nest also. I went with Yettas Dad to take Yetta to the vet yesterday and he uses frontline and Yetta STILL has a flea on her now and then. She told him that there is probably a nest of them in his house somewhere and he'll need to fog it about 3 times, 10 days apart and then a 4th time to make certian they are gone. Of, coarse, you get the animals OUT of the house BEFORE you fog it.

My mom told me sprinkling 7dust on the carpet will kill the fleas.

Has anyone done that before and know if it is safe for the kitters?

We used to Seven Dust our dog when I was a kid and she died at about 13 (early for a small mut poodle) of cancer. Personally I would not use it in the house - the cats lick themselves and will surely ingest it. Good outside away from animals..... Debbie

No, don't use that in the house where your cats will come in contact with it. For that matter you shouldn't come in contact with it either. Is that stuff still legal???

I use to do that same thing years ago, it did work. But the key to it is to vacuum after you do it. Let it sit a few min. cats out of the room, then vacuum, then tose the bag. The feas are now in the bag and if you don't tose the bag, you still have fles.

Oh yeah it's still legal, it great for in the yard and in some ways safer then a lot of yard sprays that you buy now days. We always have 7-dust around here for the yard, really helps keep the fleas down. Even the Vet told me to use it when we though we might have a problem with wipworms in on area of the yard.

That's interesting. Guess I was thinking of something else that my dad used to use in his garden that's been banned now.
