Pics of the Cranker & Goofy

I went up to my Parents' place last weekend and got to see their kitty kats - Cranker & Goofy.

You might remember that Goofy is their "outdoor" kitty. Someone dumped him there last spring (they live out in the country with a woods on the side and behind their house). My mom started asking around for a new home for him because he is just the nicest kitty you could meet. Well, it didn't take long and she felt he wouldn't be happy anywhere else and she decided to keep him, but he couldn't come in the house because of the Cranker, their resident Ragdoll sourpuss (similar to Gabe, but somehow I think he's worse than Gabe). I wasn't too happy about them not letting him in the house, but things have worked out well. He spent the winter in an insulated house my dad made for him, and he is always there (well, usually, unless he's romping in the woods) as soon as you come out the door. He's a real sweety and all he wants is attention. If you stop petting him and walk away, he will swat at you and give you a dirty look as if to say "Why'd you stop? Keep petting me!"

Anyway, there was a big tree that the top had toppled off, so my dad had a guy come with a bucket truck to cut it off so it wouldn't fall on their vehicles or the house. They were all done, the top of the tree was on the ground, and Goofy had to inspect everything to make sure it was all done right.

Yup, hood of the truck looks good...

What about the top - and hey, check out that bucket! (we actually thought he was going to climb in the bucket!)

    Hmm....what's over here?

Looks like the window is open! Hmmm...if I can just get my footing here....
(the headlight thing moved when he stood on it, and he had to maneuver around a few times before he got the awkward footing he has here)

Whew! Made it! Wow, it's really warm in here, and everything smells soooo interesting!

My mom snuck down and just held the camera up and snapped because it was too high for her to see in, and she didn't want to interrupt Goofy's browsings. Shot turned out fantastic for not even being able to see what she was aiming at.)

He didn't want to come out of the truck, but she opened the door and pulled him out. I don't think he could have made it back out the window because there was nothing to get a footing on to get him up that high....but it would have been fun to see him try. Oh, and we made darn sure he wasn't anywhere near the truck when the guy left. I could just see him curled up in the bucket or something.

And here's a pic of the Cranker doing the meatloaf. He's really a beautiful cat, but all I have to do is look at him and he makes it sound like I'm killing him. I did get a video, but that'll have to wait.

Always a nice weekend when you're spending it with kitties - even the Cranker.

    Cranker looks like our Bailey!

Goofy sure lives up to his name. What a silly boy!

My parents had a cat, Annie. I never saw anything but a streak as she ran off. She was the most skittish cat I ever didn't meet. And she lived to 16 or so!

    Well-named kitties

LOL! Cranker does live up to his name in that picture - he sure doesn't look happy! He is a beautiful kitty though, ragdolls are just lovely. Goofy also lives up to his name! Sneaky Devil! Very cute too!
