    Taking a break from PT

This is a courtsey to the "good ones", my friends, of Pet Talk that I will be taking a break for awhile. I considered quitting all together, but sometimes things improve, especially since all the kiddies will be in school soon.

This is not a plea for attention, that's not why I am annoucing my departing, it's simply as a courtesy, as I said before. The 'good' ones, and you know who you are, in case I can't bring myself to come back, best of everything to you. I have enjoyed being a part of this community and gaining new friendships. I do wish that it were different at PT, but the truth is, I don't enjoy it any longer. True there are some wonderful people, but the bad is starting to outweigh the good and coming on here and reading all these lies/deceptions and all the immature kids has worn me out. It's time for me to move on. There may be a day when PT is different, similar to how it was before all the newbies showed up with their lies, but only time will tell.

Karen and Paul, I have enjoyed these few years as a member of PT and I am greatful to you for creating this site. I have met some, hopefully, life-long friendships and had some unforgetable experiences.

Peace and love to my friends here at PT.

    -Leslie

P.S., if you want my AIM handle to chat on AIM, please send me an email.

I am sorry that you think that way about PT. I hate to admit it...but it is becoming true. (yeah, I know this is coming from someone who is relatively new and one of the younger members ) I hope that you decide to come back soon, but if you don't, best of luck to you.

    Leslie!!

I don't like how you said it would improve when the "kiddies" go back to school but I certainly will miss you. I enjoyed meeting you, Graham and Kersey alot in Ohio. I'm really glad I got to meet Graham, since he's my favorite PT buddy. I hope I'm one of your "friends" or the "good ones"!

In the past few weeks or so... leaving has came across my mind as well.

I hope to see you in AIM chats.

I'm sorry to see you go Leslie, but lets hope things improve soon, so you can come back.
I understand how you feel, and while I've only been a member for 9 or 10 months, I have seen this board deteriorate a lot.

Thanks for letting us know, so no one worries about you!!!!

I look forward to your return, and hearing more about Graham, Kersey, and the kitties.

Leslie I for one will certainly miss you, especially now that you have your newest furbaby and we won't get to watch her grow. I understand your disappointment of late and agree that Pet Talk has gone through some changes lately, mostly not very good. I have used the "ignore" feature here and it works for me. Maybe when you have had some R & R time and come back, you could try it too. Lots of hugs and good wishes to you and your gang!

    Leslie,

I understand completely. I too have cut back considerably
from what I used to post or read on PT. I agree COMPLETELY
with EVERTHING you said in your post.(except for the AIM thing,
as I've never checked it out) I know & understand thal ALL things
change over time & change can be good or change can be a
negative thing. I used to feel a special closeness within this
community & really loved sharing stories about my pets & reading
other's experiences with their pets. Not any more. I really feel
"why bother" as most (not all) of the younger immature ones
could care less. All they want to do is turn this forum into a huge
"chat room" filled with everything but pets. I will pm you with my
e-mail addy should you ever want to share ideas or pet news
or just to say howdy once in a while. Take care & hugs to your
fur gang. Liz , Smokey & Kitties.

Re: Taking a break from PT

    leslie,
I am heart broken that you are leaving.
Not that many old timers left anymore.
I wish their was something Karen and Paul could
do to make this board a bit more hoax proof,
like limiting user names per e-mail addy or PC might
    help a bit.
I hope you will just take a breather and come
back real soon. Their are still so many
wonderful people on this web site of all ages.
    Hugs Karen

    Leslie~

You and that BEE-YOO-TEE-FULL fur family will be missed terribly... However, I totally understand. Hopefully you will drop in from time to time just to say "Hi" the "Good Ones" that still exist?

Leslie, I completely understand your thinking in this, I have also drifted away. Although I like to talk about other things, my main interest is my dogs, getting to know other people's pets, pictures of their pets, and discuss problems with other people about our pets.
I know this will not be popular, but many of the young people are very mature, for instance Kfamr, but so many of them are so silly it's boring to read the posts, I understand I don't have to read the posts, but there are so many of them. I have a msn group and Kfamr was a member in excellent standing, an Ass't manager found out she was not 18 and they deleted her, but there was nothing I could do because it was part of our rules.

I enjoy talking to the young people like Kfamr, she so loves her pups and can talk about them all day, lol. We had quite a few other young people who were true animal lovers like Daisy's Mom.
I think it has evolved into more of a chat venue than what it was meant to be, let's hope that it goes back to the original or close to
    "Pet Talk".
Leslie, I do hope you come back and check once in a while, I do, and when I have the time I try to post in Dog of the Day.
Lots of hugs to the Pups

    I understand completely

I certainly understand your concern and lack of interest in the Pet Talk situation. This place has gone down hill and mostly because of the troubled folks who end up posting randomly to fill up the time of day. I have found myself posting less and less and putting more and more of the members on my "ignore" list. Sad, but true.

I hope that Karen and Paul can find a way to limit the number of postings and or topic creating by any one person on any given day....that might help a bit. Short of just asking someone to leave, I don't know how else this forum can be regulated.

I enjoy hearing about everyone's pets, by reading complete sentences and thoughts and not having to spend hours trying to decipher jibberish.

Maybe this Jessica thing had just taken the thunder out of all of us. I know it has certainly made me wonder about what people consider to be "friendships" and their willingness to accept chit chat as the makings of a friend. Friends don't treat each other the way Jessica treated anyone and everyone here.

I think Jessica's situation and event shook all of our beliefs.

I will sit back today and give this topic a real thorough looking at...... Maybe we should let the morons take over and find an adult like place for the rest of us. Maybe that comment is too cruel. That is how I am feeling.....sorry.
