    Prayer request for Lady

Well, I know what kind of *magic* pet talk can bring, so here's my prayer request.

It may not really be that big of a cause to worry, but well...I can't stop worrying, it's what I do. lol. Some of you may remember my threads about Lady and her bumps. The past 2 days they have flared up really bad. Yesterday she got them all up her shoulders and at the base of her tail. Today Melissa noticed that some of the bumps were getting bigger, and actually under the skin (not just a scab on top). She says that Lady has them ALL OVER her now.

We're taking her to the vet tomorrow morning. The "exam" and antibiotics/medicated shampoo the vet did for her last time has not done a thing...this time I'm going to demand that they do some sort of skin scrap and take a closer look at her.

I think the thing that has bothered Melissa and I the most was a conversation she had with a co-worker. She was describing Lady's symptoms and the lady got this horrid look on her face....she said she had a cocker spaniel with those problems...the vet said there was nothing that could be done for it and they had to put the dog to sleep. But of course we can't take much from that I suppose.....that doesn't mean Lady has the same thing as that dog (which I have no clue what type of skin problem could be bad enough to put a dog to sleep)

Anyway, Lady is almost 9 months old. She's a very hyper, but incredibly sweet pup. I'm sure she'll be fine, but I think some Pet Talk prayers could help! Thanks!

    Thanks everyone!!

We just got back from the vet. She did not know what it was...she had never seen anything like it before. When she pulled off the scabs the fur just came right off with it.

They did a skin scrape and determined that it was not mites. Since it seems to fluctuate and move around her body (like she'll get new ones in places one day and gone the next) she said it could be some sort of hives.

She gave her some anti-inflamatory type pills to help them if they are a type of hives. Melissa is going to try those for about a week and if they don't help, then she will be changing food. And as a very last resort there is a dermatologist specialist in Salt Lake who could test her for all sorts of stuff.....but well, it's over $300.

So I'm hoping the pills will help! Melissa is convinced it's the food, but I still think it might be her dog house.

I'll be praying that this new medic. will help. But as a nurse, I must tell you that I believe it is crucial to get a definitive diagnosis. I know the specialist is costly, but if this new medic. does not help, I hope Lady's Mom can find some way to manage an appt. Do you know if the vet took a sample for a culture and sensitivity on the scabbed area?? My thoughts and prayers are with you and Lady and her family; poor pup

Sure hope this new medicine works, but if not, I too hope she is able to take her to the specialist.
