So this afternoon I discovered a visitor in my backyard.
Chipper was crying at the back door and not thinking anything of it, I opened the door.
Then I noticed the rottweiler that Chipper was making a b-line for. I called Chipper back, but the rottie displayed no aggressive behavior, so I let them sniff. I kept Chipper in check because I saw the rottie wasn't neutered. He was wearing a leather collar though.
I called the dog to me, but he just stood there, so I made no attempts to approach him. Kia pushed past me when I went inside to get my phone. She tried to get the big guy to play but he wasn't interested. He just wanted to sniff and pee.
I felt bad doing it, but I wasn't sure if the dog could remember how to get out of my yard, so I called Animal Control. After weaving through their automated system, it turns out I called the AC in the wrong county and the nice gentleman gave me the right number. As I called them, the rottie slipped under my fence so I let them know that he was on the loose. Not sure if they caught him or not.
He seems like a sweet old dog, but it definitely gave my heart a start at first!

I just have temporary snow fencing up till I can get something permanent up later this summer. This is the 3rd dog I've found in my yard, but definitely the biggest!
