    Auld Lang Thursdays #411

As we slide into 2011 I want to officially bid a not-so-fond adieu to 2010.

Seems like most of us were not immune to the rigors and trials of the past 12 months- some of us lost family or friends during this time and others were bothered by the strife that goes along with that thing called life.

We all lost Phred and Isabel lost her husband and friend.

On the bright side? Some of us had good life changing events and I suspect that a few of us came away unscathed as the calendar months flipped by.

So, to all my friends here at PT I want to pour a glass of their favorite beverage and let us toast the year gone by, for better or worse.

Here's to what was, what will be in a few days and may it be a better year for everyone that reads this.

    ------------

Some bubbly for the group, cheese and crackers for our stomachs and a smile on everyone's face.

    DONE!

I'll toast to that! We will always gain more than we've lost if our feet are another day on earth!

Pass the bubbly, and could you please make that cheese an Irish Cheddar? Thanks for a great year at the bar, barkeep!

Don't often stop for Thursday celebrations, but today is special. I'll take a sip of the bubbly, Richard and thank you.

I hope the new year will bring good tidings and great things to everyone; especially the old and new friends of PetTalk.

Richard, a toast to you. Your year has been hard, but it can only get better.

A toast to those we have lost this year, be they fur friends or skin friends it still hurts to let them go.

And a toast to you, my Pet Talk family, for all the love and support you've given me thru my most difficult time. There is more to come, but I'm going to get thru it and survive and will eventually thrive. I thank you all for your help!

    YOU ALL!!

I've got a pounding headache. Could I have regular coffee, please? Most of '10 has been a pretty good year in my family with a 60th anniversary, two engagements and two high school graduations. But the last couple of months not so much.
Praying for peace in the Middle East, Ukraine, and around the world.

I've been Boo'd ... right off the stage!

Aaahh, I have been defrosted! Thank you, Bonny and Asiel!
Brrrr, I've been Frosted! Thank you, Asiel and Pomtzu!

I'll raise my glass to good friends lost. I've known way too many good people that have passed this year. Makes me really appreciate that thing called life, even though it gets rough sometimes.

Much love to everyone! Even though we may not always agree, I consider PT to be my virtual family. ((((HUGS)))) to you all!

A glass of bubbly please Richard and a toast to Paul and Karen for giving us all the opportunity to be here together; a toast to all the PT community - two and four pawed; a toast to all we have lost collectively and to all we have gained in 2010!

And, a special toast to Phred let's make him proud in 2011!

a toast for a better 2011 for all of us!!!.. hoping all the good we had be multiplied in the year to come...

we had some very rough times, and some very sad losses human and furry.. but we all stuck together like the family weŽve become.. thank you

I think youŽll have to restock on cheese.. I ate it all .. and as for bubbly.. for one I donŽt like it and for another I canŽt right now... so IŽll either have a very tasty home-made lemonade or a sprite to make up for bubbles

For those of us in the colder realms, I'll put on a big pot of tea, vanilla chai redolent with cinnamon and cardamom, enough to warm you to the core. I'll use one of Aunt Bertha's antique china teapots, just for a bit of history added in, and a fond remembrance of simpler times.

Sometimes there's nothing more luxurious than a simple cup of hot tea on a winter afternoon, warm and gazing out at the snow-covered landscape beyond the windowpane, which looks as timeless and monochromatic as it ever has.
