    Flood news from Down Under

    Hi PT'ers

Thought I would touch base. The floods here in Australia are spreading down into Victoria (Which is the state I live in), but not near me (thankfully).

There are rescue groups that are specifically helping animals, and some of them are travelling 1000's of kilometres to get from one state to another. There is a group of rescue people driving from South Australia to Queensland, and that trip will take them 2-3 days. So many people have lost their homes, their possessions, everything - including their dogs, cats, horses, livestock ..... it is truly heart wrenching. Amazingly people are coming together to offer vet care, home stays, foster care for everything from wildlife to horses.

If you want to donate, or even if you want to find out more :

    This site is Queensland specific
    Donate to Premier's Flood appeal

This is the Animal Rescue QLD support page on Facebook
    Animal Rescue

This site is the one that is helping alot of the other animal rescue places - and they are sponsoring the team driving up to Queensland. The same person who is on the facebook page - this is his sanctuary (Mark Aldridge)
    Willow Wood Sanctuary

Thanks to many of you who have posted on the PT pages, or emailed me. I am fine, and I think Wom is fine (?), he is NSW based, and the floods are quite far away from the city ...

    Thanks again
    Michelle

Thanks for the update. Were I there, I'd take in as many as I could, such a tragedy.

Keep us updated as you can... This winter so far is turning into a bad one for a lot of people and the animals are usually forgotten all about.. God Bless those people trying to save the animals!

Yep it is suppose to be Summer, but i am currently rugged up with a hoodie on and the heating on as well.

Some of the towns near us (about 15 mins drive away) got flooded again, they have only just started getting back on track after being flooded in September .

It has been horrible, especially for our Qlanders.
