Some pictures to remember our summer

The summer of 2010 was a very short one here in Germany. It started late this year (by the end of June), was extremely hot in July, but most of August and September was gloomy, cold and rainy.

As you may know, I'm usually not a fan of high temperatures, but after a long and cold winter and springtime, I was really looking forward to some sunny days, and now that the summer is over, it's hard to believe that there were only so few of them. 2010 you had good chances for your winter depression to start in August! LOL

The only summer photos I took this year are from June, for it's been too hot for me in July. I'll share them here to remember the rare sunny days we had!

Sounds like the same kind of weather we have. And again you've managed to capture the very essence of the scenes you photographed.
I agree with the others, you really should get yourself a gallery and post those pictures. Talent , talent , talent...I love your pictures.

Goodness! They are PERFECT! The sun was exactly right, the landscape and what you took the pictures of. Again, GREAT PICTURES!

Thanks for the beautiful pictures, Kirsten!

We had exactly the same summer here. Only a few hot days, no more than one week or 10 days in total. For the rest it rained at least one or two days/week and some days were very cold for a summer, not more than 16°c. It was a strange summer, one day cold, one day with normal temp.
My garden remained green the whole summer and I almost did not need to water it.
And I feel like you now: I can hardly believe summer is over, because it was really to short. I just didn't have enough warmth and sun

Sounds like most of Europe was disappointed with 'summer' this year! It was a similar story in the UK - a few brief weeks of glorious sun in late May and June, but I barely saw any blue sky at all in July and August (I returned from Uganda expecting to be able to maintain my tan, not so! ). September did offer a handful of warm-ish days in which I could comfortably sit and read in the garden in shorts and a t-shirt, but it didn't last long.

Those pictures are truly lovely, Kirsten, and transport me back to those sunny days that were so few!
