Hi all,
My dog is slightly foaming at the mouth but this happens when we go outside to potty/walk. She's had her rabie shot and she's not attacking anything. Does anyone know what's happening? Thanks.

I don't know the answer to "why" it happens, but you are not alone. It happens here too, especially when my girls smell something "special" or they get really, really excited.
So, I guess it's ok and not to worry about it much. Thanks!!!!!!

Also, if the dog got a hold of a toad, for example, they secrete something that makes them drop the toad and then they foam at the mouth.

Kia will foam a little at the mouth when she's excited and happy. She does it a lot at the dog park.My rabid Kia. *laughs*

cfuh, I hope that's all it is. Excitement or a toad....I'll bet it is. If you're worried, call the vet and see what he/she says.

When I take Missy to the dog park she foams at the mouth. I never really thought anything of it, I figured she just gets really excited and then she slurps up water and theirs lots of dirt and other dogs, and lots of fun people. I just kind of assumed it was normal when dogs get excited because it only happens when we go to the park she doesn't do it at home.
I've been Defrosted!
Thanks for the great signature Kay!
