Jolie, Pitt sign $366m split deal: report

Hollywood super couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have separated and signed a $366 million deal which will see their fortune split and children set up for life, reports say.

The pair — dubbed "Brangelina" by fans and the world press — signed legal papers earlier this month, the News of the World reports.

The agreement states they will have joint custody of their six children — three of whom are adopted — but that they will live with Jolie.

The papers also reveal their joint $366 million fortune, which includes mansions in France, New Orleans and California, will be split equally.

Unnamed sources said the couple signed the papers in early January with the aid of a high-profile Beverly Hills-based divorce lawyer regarded as "the best in the business".

"The contract was like a tailor-made version of a pre-nuptial agreement except for an unmarried couple's split," the source was quoted as saying.

"It seemed clear they want the world to know they'll both play a part in the upbringing of the children."

Associates for both actors refused to comment, with one saying it was a "private matter".

An announcement is tipped to be made within weeks, ending months of speculation that the couple's relationship is on the rocks.

The National Enquirer published a story last week about a fight Jolie and Pitt had at a trendy New York restaurant called Alto on January 6.

The magazine said the fight was the final straw with the couple agreeing later that night to end their six-year relationship, which began on the set of the thriller Mr and Mrs Smith.

If the reports are correct, this will be Pitt's third very public break-up.

In 2005, he split with Friends starlet Jennifer Aniston after four-and-a-half years of marriage.

The 46-year-old Inglourious Basterds star was engaged to Gwyneth Paltrow before that.

Jolie, 34, is no stranger to break-ups either: she split with Monster's Ball star Billy-Bob Thornton in 2003 and Trainspotting actor Johnny Lee Miller in 1999.

    Yeah, just read that mate.
UNBELIEVABLE !!!! They are the last couple I would have ever thought who would end it all. They seemed like the perfect couple, adopting kids and stuff because that's what they were really into.
I'm at a loss to understand why this has happened to such a wonderful couple.
Sarandon and Robbins broke up not long ago to, but the reason for that is very obvious.......Susan is in love with me, and has only had Tim around for practice until the day we finally meet and fall into each others arms.
My daily emails to her remain unanswered.....I think Tim must be intercepting and deleting them.

wom, there have been hints all the way along...last year Brad reportedly said that before he and Angie ever got married, they would have to attend couples counselling.

She can't have been easy to live with...and I am sure he wondered later on just WTF he had gotten himself into.

He did get to have kids of his own.

So maybe his 'biological clock' and common sense teamed up.

Could be true, but as the original source is the 'News of the World', a Brit newspaper not known for it's integrity, I'll take the news with a pinch of salt for now.

Nope, it was a newey to me....never even heard a whisper that they were in any sort of bother. I always thought everything was hunky dory with them both. So tonites news was a bit of an eye opener for me.
But then again....I really don't read the news that much, especially about the celebs.
Ya just don't know what goes on behind closed doors....hey ????

If it is true, I can not say I am surprised.
No offense to Angie, I think Angie is one of the most
beautiful current actors today. I enjoy both her and Brads movies too.
But I think her actions are a little off.
:Ummmm! I wonder if Brad and Jen will hook up again?
(might be a bit of a trust issue in that department.)

Now when I heard about the break up between Sarandon and Robbins, I was shocked.
Wombat that explains it all. lol

They did already make a donation of a million to Haitian relief - whether or not the break-up rumors are true, they are well-known and active philanthropists.

Well, together, the two of them did donate a fraction of that to Haitian relief - $1,000,000. Same as Sandra Bullock, George Clooney, Oprah; Tiger gave $3,000,000 and that cheapskate Madonna could only come up with $250,000.

I know... I understand they did and am grateful they did. I just see a total like that and think OMG. Could you even spend that amount in your lifetime? lol

    Madonna only donated 250,000?

I mean don't get me wrong I do NOT believe people should be forced to give a certain amount based on income... but really? $250,000? to me that is just wrong and then to perform on a fundraiser episode for haiti asking for money from people who can barely pay their own bills.

ACK. I just can't help but think how much could be done to help those people if those who have more money than they could spend would open their pocketbooks. but again... should not be FORCED to. Just wish people were more giving when they have been blessed beyond belief with the ability to do so.

I'd have more respect for them if we found out years later that they donated a large sum rather than hear about it now. "Do not blow your horn before you" definitely applies in this case.
    Blessings,
