    Doggie colds?

The other day Smokey was coughing like he had something stuck in his throat. It went on for 2 days and on the 3rd day I was gonna bring him to the vet (he tends to inhale rawhide chews so I was worried that he had a piece stuck) but the coughing stopped.
Now Pork Chop was doing it. I heard him yesterday and the day before... Is it possible Smokey had a little cold and passed it on to P.C. or something? Neither one of them appeared to be having trouble breathing and they didn't seem to be in distress really. Just like they were coughing and clearing their throats.

Of course I'll listen to see if P.C. is still doing this & we stopped giving them the rawhides when Smokey started coughing (last Saturday - Monday he was fine. P.C. started Wednesday).

    Thoughts?
    Thanks.

Dogs CAN get colds. I'd either try that Pet Symptoms link that Chris H shared in that other thread or call the vet.

Two weeks ago Carina spent a Saturday and Sunday snizzing her head off By Monday I took her to the vet and he said it was a virus, he had seen many dogs with the same symptoms lately. He gave me antibiotics and anihistaminics and said to keep an eye for runny nose or eyes. The snizzing stoped in a couple of days. She's fine now.
Your pups may have a similar problem. I hope they get well as fast as Carina did.

I did use that symptoms thing the other night
It's not a wet , nasty cough, just like they are clearing their throat.
That page said if the cough lasts more than 1 or 2 days to see the vet. Smokey's lasted 2 days, P.C. has been 2 days, I'll see later today if he's still coughing.

    Thanks!
