    Husky hike - strongsville, ohio

I am thinking about participating. I live in North Olmsted, so I am not far from Strongsville, so it would give me something to do on a weekend. I see it is on Oct. 3, I am going to sign up myself and my boyfriend, if he wants to come, just in case. Plus, I think I will bring my Nikon D60 along and take pictures of this event and just enjoy myself.. Also I will do this in honor of my Anna, which it will be a year in October of letting her go home to the Rainbrow Bridge.

Aww, wish I was going to be in Lorain that day. They are actually having the first dog walk for the Hancock Humane Society on that day, in Findlay. Maybe I'll check into doing that!

You should go - We really enjoyed the Adopt-A-Husky hikes we went on in Strongsville. It's a beautiful setting, and there are dozens and dozens of gorgeous huskies everywhere you look - you'll love it! Also, they usually have fosters who might need some dogless person to take them for a stroll! I'll attach a couple pics from the hikes we went to & met up with some other PTers.

That's Jennifer & Cayenne, Angie & Sierra, me with Sherman, Star, and Anna Roxey hiking side by side.

Star & Sherman by the sledding demo, wearing their hiking medals.

PTers Star, Sherman, Phred's Smokey, Bowser, & Cinder, Anna's Roxey, and Jennifer & Nicki (I think)

You should definitely go, Rachel, it would be a lot of fun! I'd go if I were nearby! Is anyone else from PT going? Maybe you should move this thread to Meetings.

    WHERE did you "look'?

Did you have a map or directions?
    Example: http://maps.google.com/maps?sourceid...ed=0CAwQ8gEwAA

And WHEN did you go looking ?? ...
The Strongsville Husky Hike was on Saturday, October 3, 2009 =
the Saturday before the last one.

It's WAAY back in the woods; but you'd have seen Volunteers, Huskies, and
Signs as soon as you got close on Valley Parkway.

Yeah.. we came around 10AM, we got up late, but we figured we'd make it in time to walk a foster. We had directions, etc.

So ... Well ... WHAT was the problem?

Your last reply is a bit 'sketchy' on the details.

Did you go on the Right Day - Saturday, October 3, 2009, (TWO Saturdays ago)??

Did you go to the Right Place ?? (see the MAP linked above)

At 10:00 AM - the Mob would have been arriving ...
The paved Park road off of Valley Parkway should have been almost
    bumper-to-bumper with Husky-filled cars.
Drive to the only place on the road - the END - and there is a HUGE
parking area annd a Very Nice "Royalview Picnic Area" ...
Filled with a few hunderd Huskies.

Next Tyme have the Pilot call for directions ... "Phred's Travel Bureau" is open 27/7.

Haha no problem! We did go to where it was supposed to be at, etc. I guess we got hungry and went to Bob Evan's for breakfast... yep, Oct. 3, 10AM, we followed directions right off the map, etc. There's always a next time.

    So WHAT Happened ????????
    WHAT did you SEE ??????

Did you drive up a mostly heavily wooded narrow, 2-lane paved road,
with a lot of gentle bends, before arriving at the end of the road at the Picnic Area?
The wooded road is at least a mile long leading back to the Picnic Area.

    There HAD to be a hundred Huskies, 75 Owners, and countless Cars;
Booths set up around the BIG Pavilion ... ACTIVITY all over the area.

And they always have HUMAN Food right there - No Bob Evan's required.

HOW could you possibly have "missed it" ???????
