    Prayers for Mitzi

She's been exhibiting signs of blockage - straining at the litterbox, running from box to box, trying again, nothing, meowing, and then a few hours later she's able to pee normally. It means the stones are moving and intermittently blocking her She's also started trying to use the hallway rug as a litterbox - I know it's because she's desperate. My little girl is hurting

Poor baby is at the vets today to try and figure out what's going on and how to fix it. I didn't know female kitties could get blocked.

She absolutely refuses the proper food to help ease her ailing kidneys. The vet said it's better she eating what she will eat than nothing at all, but I'm afraid it's hurting her.

I hope this helps! Here at the Clan House, I have found that the BEST thing is to keep the cat eating!!! Molly, a kidney cat, ate Friskies! Every time I opened a can, I felt like I was killing her. But she did eat...Have you tried to mix the prescription diet with some of food Mitzi REALLY likes? I will light a candle for Mitzi and you, too!!!

Thank you. I have the same feeling every time I feed her. I've tried mixing the foods, but she's such a princess - she KNOWS it's not her PURE food that she loves, so she gets her Fancy Feast and Science Diet and I watch her like a hawk to make sure she drinks her water. I will even wait on her with a glass of water.

No word yet from the vet so I'm just hoping that no news is good news.

    Mitzi

Oh poor baby; my prayers are with you and Mitzi. When my Tommy cat was sick with cancer and kidney issues, he also loved Fancy Feast wet food. You can even add some water to the Fancy Feast just to keep her drinking water. It is whatever you can get them to eat.

Well, she's NOT blocked! Thank God! and the vet didn't really see anything wrong until late in the day when she saw her straining at the litterbox. Not blocked, but probably some inflammation of some kind going on, so she gave her some pain meds

We're waiting for the urinalysis to see if there's any infection. If there is, she'll be on antibiotics too. Poor little girl, but at least she's not blocked.

Precious Mitzi! I'm sorry that you have some inflammation going on and I hope you don't have an infection. Big get-well hugs and kisses to you, sweetheart.
