    .Friskie's Photo Thread..

Ugh, I miss the winter. It is getting to be hot outside now. :[ Atleast Frisk is still enjoying it.

    Just a teeny tiny rant...
Frisk was helping us out at the garage sale we had Friday(which was a success!), and so many kids would come up to him and ask if he was a Puggle. *sigh* Why can't he just be a mutt? All these kids that are less than 10 know the names of all the designer breeds it seems like.
BTW, Frisk is a pug/rat terrier. Considered a "Pugat" by designer breeders. I found this ad while googling Pugat out of curiousity. Pfft, who in their right mind would buy a mutt for $500? I know, alot of uneducated people would.
[sarcasm] I must have gotten a deal, I only paid $40 for mine! [/sarcasm]
Oh well, I love my mutt.

He has another thyroid appointment later this week. Wish us luck!

Pbft he's so funny, in a cute way of course. You should just tell the kids, "No, I rescued him instead of buying a mutt." That's what I tell annoying kids.

Oooh Frisk, mwah. I love that little guy. It is so nice to start my day with some Frisk-man pictures. And a little story in reference to your mini-rant. Ginger and I were at the dog park last week and a lady came in with two young children and a Jack Russell/pug mix (Jug). I was talking to them and being polite, when another lady came in with a poodle/yorkshire terrier mix. I asked the second lady if she got her dog at the Puppy Barn, a local store known for selling designer breeds . She said no she rescued him from a shelter. I made a big deal of telling her how wonderful that was. After talking for a while, the lady with the Jug indicated that she also rescued her dog from a shelter. I must admit, when I see someone with a "Jug" or "Puggle" I automatically think that they bought it from the Puppy Barn or a backyard breeder.

    Thanks so much everyone. =D

@Suki Wingy: I wish I would have thought to tell the kids he was a rescue, eventhough he was from an accidental litter from a breeder's... that got shut down for being a puppy mill a few years ago... :[ I wish I would have done more research(this was almost 8 years ago.. when I was nine), but I don't regret getting my Friskit Biscuit. :]

@Ginger's Mom: I, too, am guilty of automatically thinking most people I see with designer breeds have bought them from irresponsible breeders. It doesn't help that two casual acquaintances of mine breed designer mutts.

That is why I NEVER call those mixes by their "cute" designer names. My aunt has one, I always refer to her as a poodle/labrador mix.
