I am going to switch Tango to a new food as she isn't doing as well on her current food as I had hoped she would. I was going to switch yo EVO, but don't want to pay $70 for a 30lb bag if I don't have to(yes, that is the cheapest I could find it for after calling around). A while back I saw a food called Orijen at the petstore we always go to, and it looks almost as good as EVO, but is more in my price range. It looks good to me, but a few of you seem to know more about kibble than I do, so I thought I'd ask if there is anything in it that I should look out for/be concerned about.
Here's a link to the formula I'd buy.
This is a list of the main ingredients:
So, what do you guys think? Is there anything that I should be concerned about? I just want to find something that will be good for her, and something that she'll hopefully do well on until I can reintroduce/switch her to raw (hopefully) this summer, permanently.Fresh chicken meat, chicken meal (low ash), turkey meal, steamed russet potato, fresh-caught Northern Whitefish, chicken fat, fresh whole eggs, salmon meal, salmon and anchovy oils, tapioca, chicken broth, sunflower oil, flaxseed, Atlantic kelp, steamed carrots, spinach, peas and tomatoes, sun-cured alfalfa, apple fiber, psyllium seed, rosemary extract, yeast extract (MOS), glucosamine HCl, cranberries, black currants, chondroitin sulfate
And just because most food threads seem to turn into something awful lately, please try not to do that to this one. I'd just like to know whether it's worth buying, or if I should look at something else. The only reason I'm asking about it is because it seems to be a relatively new food and not very well known.
