Dear Diary - What's Her Problem?

    Dear Diary,

I have found the PERFECT spot for my daytime nap. A hot water pipe runs under the floor so I am nice and warm...I am close enought I can hear if Blondie gets up from her desk (in case food or outside might be involved) and....I get to see her every time she has to climb over me to use the bathroom!

What's wrong with the doorway as my new favorite? It's not like I take up that much space????

    Impedimently yours,

    Eddie

    Love the nose!

Oh Eddie, you are such a card. I just love your widdle pink nose!

I bet your Mom loves stepping over you. Mine loves to do it, especially at night. You should turn over just as she goes to put down her foot beside you, like I do! And she may just trip, trying to NOT step on you. I usually give a little yell to alert her to her clumbsiness.

    Love,
    Lucy (the newest camper)

Trust me, Eddie, the one thing you DON'T want to impede is the way to the bathroom!

Dear Eddie, I would hope Blondie takes the time to stop and pet you whenever she has to go out of that doorway... Is that actually what you had in mind when you so carefully selected that spot to lay? Your friend, Chester

Is there really a problem, Edwina? Has your secretary complained?? She is WRONG, if she has. Poor girl........you have found your spot and you need to protect and keep it!!!!

I think it is always good to lay in a doorway- this way you can see any danger coming from any direction.
Plus they cannot close your escape way!
On the other hand make sure they don't trip over you- humans are so clumsy!

P.S. Lucy, be careful. Being black puts you at even more risk
Like poor Newfie Teddy who could have been seriously hurt when his mom tripped over him. She had been sitting in half dark at her computer and did not notice him when she got up. Thanks goodness nothing bad happened to him. It was her who broke her knee.

Dear Eddie, all four of my cats agree with you, it's the humans who need to let you sleep in peace!

I however, know the need to get to that particular room in a hurry so sympathize with Blondie.

Dear Diary - What's her problem?

Hey there Eddie! That sounds like a perfect spot to hang out, take a little nap, whatever you feel like doing. After all it is YOUR house! It took a bit of a while but I finally got through to Meowmie and Soncat on that point. You do have to be careful that you don't get stepped on. My hoomins are totally clumsy & uncoordinated especially when they wake up during the night to use the necessary room. Be firm but be vigilant!!!!!

Ah Momcat, I think Mz/Lady/Princess/Queen to all Edwina would disagree with that statement.
Eduardo, I can't blame you for taking up that space and if Blondie continues to step over you, then she obviously knows her place, right??

    Stay warm sweetie.

    *Psssst* Hey Eddie,

I got one on ya. When my hooman walks down the steep loft stairs, I'm always in front of her. Juuust before we reach the bottom, I slowly stretch my back legs, stopping her dead in her tracks. Then as I get to the landing, I flip myself over on my back, belly exposed looking OH so innocent. Unfortunately, she has yet to fall for it. (no pun intended)

Another thing to try is, as she's walking out the door, I climb her leg, sit up on her shoulder and mumble, "Okay, I'm ready to go now!!!" Works everytime!

No problem Eddie - dearest boy - Blondie just can't help but get distracted by your purrfect cuteness And .... we all know little boys (especially adorable fluffy ones like you) need all the attention they can get.

Eddie, I think it only reasonable that after working hard in the office there, you deserve a little nap in a nice warm spot. Just be sure not to lie there if your office ever has a health and safety inspection. It's the kind of thing that upsets them.

    Dear Eddie,
I think the only thing wrong with your spot is that you're not in the doorway. Thats where I sit all afternoon, then meowmie can't shut the door (which would be a waste of her time since I'd just open it anyway)
Think about moving a few inches towards the door.
