Thread: Best collar?

    Best collar?

What are your favourite collars? Brands? Types?

I am looking for new collars for my cats. Soni has a blue breakaway that we got from wal mart and Isis has a purple one. They both have bells on them. I would love to find a web site or something that has some nice and pretty/snazzy collars with funky designs or something!

It would be nice if they gave the bell option or some had them on them. We prefer Soni to wear a bell so we know where he is at. He *cannot* meow and so we cannot hear him if he gets in trouble or is hurt.

We love http://www.k9collars.com/. Many colors to chose from. Break-away collars. They will embroider name/address/phone number on them for you (we just have our phone number). The ones we get have bells, but I always remove them 'cuz the kitties hate them. I ordered extra (in case our family expands ) or some get lost. Pepper has managed to release her twice now, but I just put it back on her.

We don't use collars since ours are all indoor only. We use to use the break away type but just kept finding them on the floor etc. so opted to not use them.
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

I use a harness, when I take my kitty out of the yard. It stays on securely.

Thank you for the suggestions everyone! I adore both of those sites! I think I shall need to buy extra, too. You know, just in case (accidentally ) our family expands, too.

Soni and Isis are indoors, too, but we have had one occasion too many with people "accidentally" letting them out. They actually prefer the collars over the harness and don't try to take them off. I am glad that they are breakaway so I know that they won't get hurt if they happen to snag on anything. The bells don't seem to bother them, although, I have caught Soni attacking his.

I haven't gotten one so I am of no help personally but maybe there is a product mentioned in my post that wasn't mentioned in yours. Here's the link:
