I love geography and I love to travel. Tell me something interesting about where you live.... I'll start. I live in Alaska. It is the largest state in the United States. Here's a map showing Alaska in relation to the rest of the U.S.

Tennessee
-Iroquois, bred at Nashville's Belle Meade Plantation, was the first American winner of the English Derby in 1881. Such modern thoroughbreds as Secretariat trace their bloodlines to Iroquois.
-Tennessee won its nickname as The Volunteer State during the War of 1812 when volunteer soldiers from Tennessee displayed marked valor in the Battle of New Orleans.
- The Tennessee Aquarium is the largest facility of its kind to focus on fresh water habitat. It features 7,000 animals and 300 species of fish, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals.
- The largest earthquake in American history, the New Madrid Earthquake occurred in the winter of 1811-12 in northwestern Tennessee. Reelfoot Lake located in Obion and Lake Counties was formed during this earthquake.

- Dolly Parton is a native of Sevierville. A major highway, the Dolly Parton Parkway, takes visitors traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park

I live in Minnesota.. I decided to include some things other than land mass/population type info that I thought might be interesting about my state!

* The Mall of America in Bloomington is the size of 78 football fields --- 9.5 million square feet.

* Minnesota Inventions: Masking and Scotch tape, Wheaties cereal, Bisquick, HMOs, the bundt pan, Aveda beauty products, and Green Giant vegetables

* Minneapolis is home to the oldest continuously running theater (Old Log Theater) and the largest dinner theater (Chanhassan Dinner Theater) in the country.

* The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is the largest urban sculpture garden in the country.

* Minneapolis’ famed skyway system connecting 52 blocks (nearly five miles) of downtown makes it possible to live, eat, work and shop without going outside.

* Minneapolis has more golfers per capita than any other city in the country.

* The climate-controlled Metrodome is the only facility in the country to host a Super Bowl, a World Series and a NCAA Final Four Basketball Championship.

State Flag New York's official flag was adopted in 1901. The flag has a deep blue background. It pictures Liberty (she symbolizes freedom) and Justice (she symbolizes justice before the law). Liberty is holding a pole with a liberty cap, and has a discarded crown at her feet (which represents freedom from Britain after the Revolutionary War). Justice is blindfolded and is holding the scales of justice. A shield between them pictures the sun, hills, and 2 boats sailing on the Hudson River. Over the shield there is a globe and a bald eagle. Under them all is a white, flowing ribbon that reads "EXCELSIOR."

Sice I consider Arizona my home state here a few things not to do while visiting as the are laws

Donkeys may not sleep in bathtubs

A misdemeanor is considered a felony if you commit it while wearing a red mask.

You can be hung for horse rustling

You may not hunt camels (we have a high wild camel population)

It is unlawful to refuse a person a glass of water

You may not make "ugly faces" at dogs on Sunday

You may not call a woman unattractive after sundown
