    Happy Gotcha day Boots!

    A year ago today, sweet Boots joined our family.

    His shelter website picture. Found as a stray who meowed at doors until someone took him in and brought him to the shelter. Clearly never a feral, but a dumped pet. Three months later, still at the shelter and no one looking for him when a wreck of human being took refuge in the cat adoption room. That would be me, reeling from Dominque's death and obligated to attend a shelter volunteer appreciation event. Boots knew a vunerable sucker when he saw one! He purred and crawled into my lap, licked away tears and gave multiple head bonks. A week later, he was here.

    Sticking out his tongue while he purrs.

    Into everything...

    Instant buddies with the other cats.

    Showing off his little white belly.

    He's my mass murderer..mice live in fear of running to Boots in the enclosure!

    His belly has gotten a bit bigger!

    He's too cute for his own good and he knows it!

    He's buddies with everyone, regardless of species.

    He's my sweet Bootsie, proof that even in the darkest of days there can still be hope and love. I don't know what I would have done without him. I'm sure Dominique interfered from the bridge and sent him along to help heal our broken hearts.

    Oh, Boots, I wasn't around yesterday, so I missed the celebration, but I wanted to say "Happy Gotcha Day" and "Congratulations" to a wonderful boy who knew what and who he wanted, and went right after it!

    Doesn't seem like a year at all; you have joined your family so effortlessly, imprinted your little paws on their hearts, and now have a furrever home.

    You look just as handsome as the first time I saw you!

    Way to go, Boots!!!!

    Hope you got lots of treats and scritches!!
