Hmm, your Olivia doesn't seem to appreciate the attention she gets from older sister Mimi, does she? Olivia looks like a cutie. How long have you had her?
I'm sometimes asked "Why do you spend so much of your time and money talking about kindness to animals when there is so much cruelty to men?" I answer: "I am working at the roots." -George T. Angell, reformer (1823-1909)

How often does Mimi watch Hamster T.V.?... You know they say you should limit the amount of TV you watch.... even if they are Nature shows.

LOL!! In reality, I think that is the only time I have ever witnessed Mimi looking at Olivia! And she has yet to notice the birds at all! But give her a bug, and she's all over it!

Amberlee, Olivia has been here almost a year. She was a tiny little girl when we got her, but this bad mom never took a picture!! In fact this is the first picture I have ever taken of her! I feel horrible about that!!! Poor Livvy.......

Tell your Olivia that she has a namesake, only in a little different form! We love our Olivia, and yours too!

I'm sure Olivia will be fascinated and enthralled with her namesake. Particularly now that she can put a face to the name: it helps, doesn't it?

Logan that is an award winning picture if I ever saw one! It looks like Olivia might be saying "Thank God for this glass!!!"

    And knowing you're safe....priceless

This reminds me of those commercials where they list the benefits of various things in life. Olivia may have felt confined in her cage, yet now she realizes it is priceless.

Anyway she is a sweet little girl and I just wonder what Mimi is thinking.

    Cute pic.

When I was 15 and lived at home, I let my hamster run around my bedroom. I left the room and probably didn't close the door properley as when I returned my cat at the time Gizzy had cornered poor Swizle hamster. Swizel's fur was standing on end and he was sreaming. Gizzy didn't harm him though, I think he just got a fright.

Awww! That is so cute! It reminds me of an old picture of Calhoon, my RB hammie. His cage had bars on it and our cat, Tippy was sitting on a chair watching him. Tippy never tried to hurt him, but sure loved watching him. I'm surprised Calhoon didn't have a nervous breakdown.

What a name, Connie! We have friends who have a dog named Calhoun, a good Southern name!!

I gave up on wire cages when my parent's dog, Scout, tipped one and we found our Phoebe (RB), sopping wet in the corner of Helen's room. I can only assume that she bit Scout to get herself dropped alive. I spent the major bucks immediately to move them to aquariums. That didn't even work for poor Evelyn Hamster, whose aquarium was tipped over last year while we were on vacation, by the dogs, again (but my dogs ) Lilly just carried her around in her mouth. Poor thing probably died of fright. We are much more careful now.

What a cute pic Logan!!! Awwwww....it's getting my hammie cravings going!
I tell ya, those wire cages seemed pretty easy for hammies to get out of, which is why I ended up switched to aquariums also. What frightful experiences for your RB hammie babies!

    **hugs**
