Digital Camera Error :(

When I try to playback my pictures on the camera it says "CARD NOT INITIALIZED"

When I try to playback on the computer it says the camera is not properly connect.....

Does anyone know what "CARD NOT INITIALIZED" means?

I hope my camera isn't broken.. I'll be cameraless!!

I've had a similar problem. Try reformatting the card. If you go to the camera's menu you should find something about formatting.

I called customer service for my camera when it happened to me and they said it should be standard practice to reformate your card at least once every thousand photos!

It won't let me reformat.

Then perhaps the card is ruined. Do you have the starter card is came with? This happended to someone else here where the card went bad for whatever reason and it wouldn't reformat. They tried the starter card and it worked, so they went out and bought a new card that stored more photos.

That happened to me once. It's not your camera, it's the card. Try taking the card to a photo processing place. I have one near me and they were so nice! They checked the card for me and showed me how to reformat it.
