Look where I went six years ago!

    Outer Space!!!

Six years ago NASA sent a mission to comet Wild 2, kinda appropriate since I am a Wild 1 ....doncha think?

The thing that made me follow this mission from it's start was the fact that NASA asked the public to submit names, to be placed on a microchip, and flown with the mission.

There were two sets of chips.....one set will fly with the orbiter that will not come home.....and the other set will come home on January 16, 2006!

I submitted my name and a bunch of names of family, friends and pets.

It was a heck of a ride and the thing that pleases me the most is that I was able to put my Dad's name on the chip....so, in reality he made to heaven....and infinity and beyond!!!!

TO THE MOON, RICHARD!!! That is so cool On Chip #1 I found 3 with your last name but on chip #2 there were 31 of them....

What a fabulous way to "immortalize" a family member.....seeing him or her flying around the orbit....watching over you.....can't get any better than that!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

That is really neat! I didn't even know anything about it. That's something special.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

Wonderful idea! Now, will the green men come to visit you when they find that chip out there?

Does this make you a "chip off the old block?"

Do not be jealous, do you know how cramped and cold it was with all those people in that microchip?

I'm a chip off of something!

And yes, it's kinda neat....I am waiting to see the news about the collector!!
