    Narnia

Me and my friend went to see Narnia today. I loved the movie!!! Anyways, those wolves in the movie, I can tell some parts are real. But I can also tell that they aren't purebred wolves. My friend and I are guessing they are wolf/husky mixes. Anyone know?

I can't wait to see it...but, I don't know about the animals they used...I'm sure you could find out, you'd probably have to do a little bit of research...glad to hear it was good, though!

  3. I havent seen it.. but they probably used purebred Siberian Huskies for the movie.

  5. That figures...

that how wolves 'earned' a bad name anyway is because a lot of people think that they are something out of the stupid crap they watched on TV.

    glad you know better though.
and that you liked the movie

my on line friend is trying to talk her parents into going to see the movie.

and Siberan Huskies do look a lot like wolves.
just a wee bit smaller, and more rounded ears compaired to a wolf

You are correct, they aren't purebred wolves. Here's a little article about the movie and it's wolf-ish stars: Clicky clicky!

And here is a page of 'bios' that show some of them and tells what some of them are mixed with (predictably, if it is listed it is mostly husky/malamute/german shepherd, but there are also such oddballs as great Pyrenees and Elkhound thrown in there too):http:Second Clicky!

Well after reading that article it appears the dogs were in quarantine here, because we do not have such a thing as wolves in NZ, well wild ones anyhow, glad you liked the film it was shot here in my country by NZ producer.

Looks like I'll have to make sure I go see that movie, I love wolfdogs.
Don't get me wrong... wolves belong in the wild 100% where we can enjoy them the most. But my friend has wolfdogs, and they are the sweetest!
    Here's a picture of Phoenix and I:

This is Phoenix with her other wolfdog Harley:

    Here's Phoenix's summer look:

    He just looooves Puppies!!!

Phoenix is aprox 80% wolf (F2), Harley is aprox 70% (F3)
The puppy Phoenix is playing with is Ronan, a friends F1 puppy.

    pitc9, those are neat pictures.
As for the movie, I saw it last night too and I really loved the lion! It looked amazingly real (I mean even the CGI stuff, like his expressions). Everything looked really realistic.
And carole, the scenery was amazing, too, I'd really love to visit New Zealand some day.

I just watched a doco on it this morning, it cost 200 million to make, the most ever anywhere, phew thats a lot of money,I am not sure where abouts it was all filmed but i do know some of it was in the South Island, I live in the North, our producer was saying he could not believe Peter had not used these places for Lord of the Rings, sure hoping it is a big hit worldwide. Imax will be a great way to view it, we have one but it is like two hours away, so i think i will stick with the normal size screen for now. The wolfdogs came from California.
