New Dog Yellow Lab

Hello all, well after Chipper had to be put down we decided to get another dog.
My cousin is a breeder and she had a 3 year old Yellow Lab that needed a home, his owners were moving.

He is such a sweet dog Zack! His only issuses are that I have 3 cats and a 3 month old kitten. He has been around cats, but the owner keep them apart. Dog ran the house and well cats stayed upstairs in bedrooms. He also has a crate which i have been letting him sleep at night. Its only been 2 days so I thought this would be OK just until everyone gets use to each other.

My question is I want everyone to live together, the older cat and kitten are fine. But Bella (mother of kitten) ran out of the house (they are inside-outside cats)

I did not see her today I have been going nuts trying to find her. The other cat just hangs out and keeps out of Zack's way. Any advice would be great!

I hope momma cat comes home soon. You must be worried sick about her.

In your house, you need to provide a place where the cat can run and not be near the dog if that is what she chooses. For us, we cut a hole in the bottom of the door leading to our basement. The cat can escape through it but it's too small for the dog. Many times I find the cat on the other side of the hole teasing the dog. In most cases, the novelty wears off and they learn to live in harmony. Again, I hope you find momma soon.

Thank you so much for caring............Bella came home last night around 10:30 last night.
She is now in the hall closet feeling safe, I hope this all works out Zack is getting used to all of us, I'm not sure if the cat issue will stop any time soon. But we are trying!
