    Bristol!!!

    Now I've got race fever

Man did we ever have a time this weekend at the races! There was so much going on, it's going to take forever for me to tell it...so I'll just give you the short version

We got to our hotel Thursday evening. Now get this, all the rooms were supposed to have microwaves and fridges...but did ours???? NO! But Robin and Alden's did They even had a King sized bed and we had two twins (made us cuddle more!). I won't even tell you how Robin said they got the "good room"

Anyways, we needed to be ready to get on the bus by 1. They checked us all in and told us what bus to get on.
These were two of the buses (the front one was ours)

Then we headed down the road...only to be stopped by a wreck. I'm not sure if anyone was seriously hurt or not, but I sure hope not.
Then after about 1/2 or so wait we were on our way!
Besides just having a great time at the race, we did a lot of goofing around and laughing...

Took us about 1 1/2 hour to get there from our hotel. Nice ride, we even got to watch movies and have snacks.
You could tell that we were about there when you started seeing cars parked along side of the road. I don't know how far they were from the racetrack, but it had to be miles. I can't imagine walking that far! There were campers as far as the eye could see in every direction

    Then....we were finally there!!!!

It doesn't look very big from that picture, but we were still quite far away.

    STAY TUNED....MORE TO COME!!

When we got there we were going to go walking around first, but we decided it would be best to get our stuff and put it in our seats since our seats were clear on the other side of the track, so Robin and I went to the Margarita bar (yummy!) and waited for the guys!
It's that little place on the left with the green sign

Here's the gate we went in to get to our seats...We were in the Junior Johnson Terrace

Once we got in and put our stuff away, Mark and I went to look around and go to the drivers trailers.
    Trailers, trailers, trailers everywhere!

We even seen Robby Gordon signing autographs.

There were 3 Kurt Busch trailers (guess they're having a hard time getting rid of his stuff)

I also got to sit in one of Tony's cars! They will send me the picture online in a couple of weeks..I can't wait to see it!

Here's a picture down by the wall.

We were wanting to climb all the way up to the top *whew!* too many stairs! So we stopped around halfway and took a picture.

Kyle Petty's cute pink Northern Car, and there he is getting interviewed (he's Mark's favorite driver..even if he is a looser).

    Here's Robin & Alden's favorite driver...Mark Martin! Looks fired up doesn't he!

And lookie, lookie, lookie! It's TONY!

    And JEFF too!!!

And here's the cutie pie Kasey Kane!

Sure do wish I would have had a better zoom!
    Here's a picture behind us

The race was good, even if we did get rained on some (wait till you see Robin's picture of us sitting in our ugly orange ponchos ). At least they were able to finish, although we did get back to the hotel at 4 am

The next day we were ready for the cup race! Come on guys...let's go!

Aren't we a good looking bunch

Us in our seats before the race started

    Look at all those trailers!

This was Rusty Wallace's last race here, so they had a little ceremony for him and did this...

And this was really cool too...

    Let's go racing boys!

I have so many pictures there's no possible way I could post them all so I'll just give you the link and let you take a look if you want to...hope you enjoyed...I know I sure did!!!

And how long did you sit in the seats??..

THe first timers always jump up and down to get a better view...

    But what about the smells????

    Food, popcorn, oil, tires...

    The sounds?

    Thnnder, shaking, the crowd?

    Ohhs and Ahhhs..
cheers and the fly over after the National Anthem...

There, you got the goose bumps back......

I closed my eyes when I saw the Jeff Gordon pics....

    Race fever???

You can't throw a touchdown pass, score a goal, hit a 560 foot homerun.

You can't ron a 10 second 100 meters race, ride the Tour de France, or get a 200 yard hole in one...

But you can push that pedal a little faster, draft a semi and make perfect lane change.

the only difference is you can't do smoking burnouts when you get to work and no onw will douse you with beer, Gatorade or Pepsi...

Great pictures, Anna! Looks like you all had a great time. I love the pictures of the 4 of you, 4 of my favorite people.

Hmm.. I'm thinking Mark only likes Kyle Petty because of his pink car.

You guys are so lucky, what great seats! I wish I could go!

You definately need ear protection. Earplugs work fine, but if you want to hear what's going on you need to get a scanner and headphones. I think ours was around $100 and came with 2 headsets. But if you really want something good...get the headsets with the microphones, then you can talk to each other and not nudge and try to talk with your hands

And how long did you sit in the seats??..
For a VERY long time Friday since it kept raining

THe first timers always jump up and down to get a better view...
Yeah, Yeah...you could say we jumped up and down a few times

    But what about the smells????
    Food, popcorn, oil, tires...

Mmmm smell that fuel oil and burnt rubber!
Food smelled good, but I was more into the race than the food

    The sounds?
You mean the deafening sounds of 43 race cars going around the track or the earsplitting sound of the 4 jets

    Thunder, shaking, the crowd?
The crowd roared, we did the wave durning the time it was raining...that was fun!

    Ohhs and Ahhhs..
cheers and the fly over after the National Anthem...

There, you got the goose bumps back......

I got those goose bumps when I was telling a girl at work all about it!
Ok, I have to admit...the jets were almost my favorite thing! The first time they went over surprised me and I know I was screaming and having the biggest smile of my life! I have them on video, but of course can't attach it

    -------------------------------

I closed my eyes when I saw the Jeff Gordon pics....
Oh come on now, you know he's a hottie and a darn good driver! You should have closed your eyes when you seen Kurt Busch

So yeah, I loved it...Loved the thrill of the fast cars, seeing the drivers, hearing the crowd roar, seeing the guys jump out of the plane, the sound of those awesome jets and even the thousands of people that looked like ants when we were leaving. The only thing I didn't love was the smell of the diesel bus fuel when we were trying to find which bus was ours

Your next assignment is to get to an AIRSHOW!!

You will never be the same. Go see the Thunderbirds or the Blue Angels!
