Oh ok, sorry I assumed bunny was an outside bunny, as in my country I have yet to see an indoor bunny, we get rather hot here too and humid, I was a diligent owner alway's making sure bunny was in the shade or shifting her cage around all day long, it was on castor wheels, but then not everyone is, so if you want an indoor cage , perhaps they are not quite as suitable, maybe you could adapt them a little to suit indoors, good luck, search the net, you will come up with many ideas for sure.

Wolfsoul, I was wondering how that holds up with the urine? Did you apply a lot of coats of paint or are the sleves made out of plastic or what?
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.

tho i cant really see, is there a litter box? ppls small pets that can use a litter box, you really dont need much for bottom, to catch urine, my bunnies use litter box. they pee in it mostly tg, they leave their poos in too, but they still leave territorial droppings, but tg, its not a mound, lol.

I painted it with non-toxic water-based polyurethane paint sealer. I applied 5 coats, but it does seem to be wearing off some. I should probably get some more.

Yup, they have a litter box, though I need to get another one. For some reason they don't like to use it for peeing, only pooping, so I figure if I get another maybe they will use one for peeing and the other for pooping.

Was it expensive or time consuming to build? I really like it and it would be better to have a cage like that for our bunny than the one she has now. (because of the space her current cage takes up. )

My cage cost me almost $200 to build, so it was quite expensive. I built it from scratch, so I had to buy all of the wood, and then I had to buy the wire and the paint sealer, nails, locks, etc. I can't really make an accurate guess about how time-consuming making a cage would be, as I didn't work on mine very often. Only about an hour every second day, plus I had to sand the wood and everything. So all in all it took me a few months. It really doesn't take up too much room -- it's pretty much all height. Five feet!

    $200? Wow.

It is nice though. Do your bunnies use all the levels?

I may have to get creative and build something like it.
