    New Kitty!

We went to the SPCA and bailed out Sugar Plum on Wednsday! She is absolutely gorgeous, and the most perfect cat in the world... I can't believe she's actually home! We met her the weekend before last, but she hadn't even been spayed so they told us she'd be ready the following Saturday. We visited her that Thursday after her spay and played with her for an hour, then we went back to the SPCA on Saturday to pick her up, but they had given her to someone else that morning! We were really shocked, and discouraged, as it already seemed like she was "our" kitty, we loved her to pieces. She had been removed from the website, so we assumed she was happily in a new home. We just went back on Wednsday, and met two cats.. they were both sweet girls, but not anything like Sugar Plum. I was looking through a window into one of the "cat colony" rooms, and I saw her little head poke out of a cat tree. Her papers weren't up yet, but I knew it was her! She ran over and mewed at us until we picked her up and cuddled her.. of course we adopted her right away.

What is incredibly wierd, is that the SPCA said the people who adopted her Saturday morning before us brought her back the very next day with no explanation.... we have NO idea why. She meowed the whole way home in her crate, but the second we let her out she just ran right up to us purring and wanting to be held. She did not hide for a second, she acted like she owned the place (which she does). She has used her litter box perfectly, my Mom just put the cover on it and she has had no problems at all, she eats like a horse, and she loves her little cat tree. No destruction, spraying, agression, or being anything but the perfect sweetheart. My Mom is in love with her ! My mom works at home 3 days a week, and Sugar Plum just sits on her lap purring while she's on the computer. She also loves tummy rubs, her window perch, and plays with all of her toys, and she just discovered catnip! Her turn-in form said that she was found by some people as a stray... which is unbelievable!

Anyway, I wanted to tell you all that she's home because I've been posting about this for a while... I took tons of pictures Wednsday night, but my dad just brought in the only computer that can upload from my camera to get a new fan . I promise they'll be up soon! She is such a doll!! We're trying to decide between the names Lola or Chiquita.. we're leaning towards Lola . She is white with brown, marbly tabby patches and some cream mixed in, and she has reall pretty, big green eyes. It'll be very interesting to see how she and Gonzo get along... they probably won't meet for a couple weeks, just eating on separate sides of a door and being able to smell each other. I know Gonzo will love her

OMG!!! She sounds like a dream kitty!! The other people returned her with no explanation because she was supposed to go home with you and your family! She sounds so happy and felt instantly at home. She knew where she was supposed to be.
I think both names are cute and I can't wait for pictures of the newest PT member! How old is she?

Congratulations! I like Lola, too, because it reminds me of that really old show tune..."Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets" Sounds like that describes your beauty.

I completely agree with you both! We were thinking that she acted up as much as she could with the first adopters, because she knew she didn't belong there she is such a smart, sweet girl, I wouldn't be surprised. I'm really happy because my Mom is happy.. she's a complete animal lover, but we've never had such a people-loving cat before. She also loves the camera!! I got some really adorable pics, I can't wait to share them with all the Cat lovers. Lola does seem to fit her, she's such a lady

The shelter said she's 1-2 years old. She is also extremely good with other kitties, when we were there a big black cat was laying next to her and she was cleaning his face.. which is good, as my Mom has volunteered to foster a few kittens once kitten season comes. I just hope she's as good with doggies

thanks so much for welcoming her, and us to the Cat side!

thank you Robyn! we love her soooo much! She's also a total sweetheart with my neice, Morgan.

she's sitting on my lap right now, belly up I cannot believe how relaxed and happy she is already.. Gonzo and her ate on opposite sides of the door, and sniffed eachother. Of course Gonzo's tail was wagging and he whined, and she seemed interested but not scared at all

I promise I'll post a thread of Lola pics on Sunday!

Lola is adorable! Some people return cats that are too affectionate for them...dummies. Or maybe they heard about some kittens, and so many more people want them little as opposed to adult cats. They just don't know what they missed out on with your new girl.
