    Squirrel Dog

Lillie today was funnier then ever I hate to start a new thread because I just don't what I am doing yet but she is definatly a hunter. and we don't hunt.
I have this white grand prix as a second vehicle and today we were outside and she keept sniffing around it.
My boyfriend new there had to be a squirrle or something in there so he opened up the hood of the car and nothing, then shut it and one ran out from underneath the car around our barn.
Lillie was right on it's tail then lost it going into the barn.

Later on tonight we went back outside and she would not get away from that car at all. I said hey Lil is that squirrel in there? wanna get that squirrel? I opened the car door she got right in the front seat and was looking down toward the gas and brake pedals and passager seat floor mats it was just too damn cute. I let her back out and right to the hood she went waiting for it to come outa there again.
Here is a picture of her doing what she loves best before I let her out to take off after the birds, squirrels or whatever is moving out there. The good thing is though she stays in the yard. I cannot find the picture I want of her looking out the bay window but here is a simular picture of how she watches the catch all day.
So this springer/lab mix is the best dog ever but crazy.
Does anybody have a situation like this? we will call this one, The darnest things dogs do. or something like that.

    This is crazy,

How many dog owners have a dog who will react to the word, "Squirrel"?

I have one, Hexay June!!!!! She is a senior German Shepard Dog. who visits Gramma and Grampan regularly. She reacts to the word, "Squirrel" !!!

We use to have a beagle that loved squirrals!!! When we first got married we lived in a trailer park, and the neighbor always had squirrals bugging her bird feeder, so our dog Chase came to the resue! My husband would carry her out the back door, go down the side of the trailer, and Chase's feet would be kicking the whole time and when they got closer he would put her down and she would go nuts!!! She always watched out the window for them! When we moved to our house their were tons of squirrals, but she mangaed to chase them all away. She has been gone for 4 years now and the squirrals are just now starting to come back!

    Mine loves Squirrlys

I have a Lab/Shep Mix ( R.B. ) He loves them little critters.. When we go for our walks of an evening, He looks up
in every tree we walk by to make sure there is no Squirrels hanging out.. And when he finds one, he goes nuts :)
He starts crying, whining and barking.. ( Like the little guy is going to hop out the tree to say Hi ) Then he trys to climb
the tree himself crazy dog... It's cute .. You can't even utter the word squrriel !! He'll head straight for the window
and just stare forever... Squrriels are for making dogs life crazy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Belle goes absolutely nuts for squirrels (birds are OK, but squirrels are gold). She will actually look up for them and follow them from tree to tree if I let her. But the funniest is when she's after flies in the house. I don't ever have to worry about swatting them, because she catches them and eats them...she's better at it than the cat is!
