We Have A New Addition!

I went to Petland to buy some doggie bones that I had a coupon for. I left the coupon at home( ) so instead I walked out the door with this little thing. No biggie or anything but I have never had one before so I am excited!

Sooooo....meet our newest member!






Katie meets Mr. Betta



He is a purple pinkish color. So what do you guys think? I have never had a betta fish before and am not for sure how to take care of him. The girl gave me some quick advice so I hope he will be ok. If anyone has any advice on how to care for him please let me know. Thanks!

Hhehehe...yes, Katie does seem to like him. Tori could care less. So Mr. Betta is now sitting high up on my computer desk.

I have no name for him right now. Any suggestions?

What are you feeding him?

I suggest you clean his bowl often (especially with that Akita and Husky fur flying around!) - and make sure that the water is around 70-80 degrees (not too warm, not to cold.. they like it that way)


Of course, i'm not Betta expert but that's what i've been told/read.

He's pretty!

Be sure to clean/change his water often as the water in his bowl will get dirty fairly quickly. Water PH at 7 is ideal but I've read that they're a bit more leniant that other tropical fishes. The water conditioner I use also adjusts the PH level to 7, so it's very easy to do.

They're so fun to have around! Korkie is spoiled silly and has a 10 gallon tank to himself. I'm gonna get a divider and eventually get another male betta.

I looove having Fish. They are really peaceful to watch, and so easy to maintain yet they kind of grow on you.. Hehe.

My betta's nae is Tank. He started out with a small bowl, then I got a small aquarium, then I ended up with a bit bigger aquarium. Now he has a plecostomus (to help keep the tank clean) and 3 neon buddies.

Thanks for the website, Micki! So it is possible for them to have some kind of buddies? Hmmm, might have to check into that. I am certainly enjoying having a fish...lol. I know its just a little fish but for some reason I feel like a little kid...lol
