    S.O.S. Resceu-Introduction

HI Everyone! My name is Nellie Allain. I am president and founder of S.O.S. Rescue in Plaquemine,LA (just outside of Baton Rouge). We recue dogs and cats; we are not breed specific, as a matter of fact, we specialize in PBM's (Pure Bred Mutts...they are the forgotten angels)While at adoption yesterday, I met a very nice lady named Laura. She told me about PT and how, through this forum she was able to save 2 kitties. Being in rescue, I am always interested in meeting rescue people, as they are the greatest!! Of course we are always in search of foster homes (which are desperately needed....anyone frome the Baton Rouge area who can help, please let me know), volunteers, etc...I just wanted to say "Hi" and introduce myself. I look forward to chatting with you all. I would love to know if there are any other Louisiana-Baton Rouge area people subscribed to PT.
    Have a Great Day everyone!

    hi!

Hi, gidgetgirl welcome to PT! I'm david p and I'm from Pittsburgh, Pa. I have two rescue kitties that own me. Nikki, a 4 year old tuxedo, and Daisy, a year and a half old tortoiseshell. I volunteer with Cat Sense, a cat rescue organization in Pittsburgh. Last saturday we had a record of 5 adoptions!! I really love it when an animal gets a forever home. I hope that you post a lot because there are a lot of other rescuers here. This forum can be addictive!

    Welcome.

I am mama Rosa and I live in FL and work with Siamese Rescue in VA as a foster.

We deal with Siamese cats, and I was always convinced that there is a rescue for every breed, even the precious 'mutts'.

Thank you for what you do, and I pray that you find more help, so we can go about saving more life.

    Hi All!
I sincerely thank you for such a warm welcome. As I said Rescue People are the best! If I can ever help in this area, please do not hesitate to contact me. BTW, we are still working on our webpage...take a peak at some of our innocent angels for adoption! We are on Petfinders, but our other webpage is sosrescue.org

    Hello Nellie

Thanks for looking us up. I'm not a rescuer and think all of you rescuers do such a wonderful job - more power to you all.

I'm owned by three cats called Bagel, Ketchum and Dan and live in England. You'll find PetTalkers are scattered throughout the world - and we're a friendly bunch too!!

Welcome. I'm not a large scale rescuer, but the two newest members of our gang were rescued from the field and woods behind our house. I so admire all the wonderful rescue folks on this board.

Hi Nellie! Welcome to PT. I hope you will browse around a biy and get to know us. I LOVE this place. I know Laura, too! Well, I never MET her but I still know her, her cats, her kids and send her recipes and talk to her in messenger. I even showed her my kitties on webcam last night

I live in Ohio with my hubby and the five cats you see below. Most of the stories are on Cat General so maybe you will peek in and post there too

Again, welcome!!! I think you will love it here.

    Welcome Nellie!

PT really is a wonderful place, especially for people willing to rescue furbabies.

I'm at my limit now, all 9 of our cats are rescues. You can see them in my signature.

    Enjoy PT, its addictive.

Welcome to Pettalk Nellie! I've been chatting back & forth with Laura about the possibility of sending some kitties from your area to up here. Kittens always get adopted regardless of how "ordinary" they may look, and I have a network of foster homes willing to take on pregnant cats, and mamas with newborns etc. I do a LOT of rescuing around here (often with Leslie's help) and have trapped and placed over 400 so far this year. I'll have to do a final tally soon, but every year it's in the hundreds taken off the streets. Most all are abandoned sad to say, but the shelter that took in Lucky & Louie have been wonderful. Hope you stick around, and introduce some kitties to us via pictures. I'm owned by many as you can see in my siggy below. I'm a sucker for the special needs ones, and tend to hog most of them for myself LOL. Nice to meet you, Jan
