LOOK what I found on my doorstep....

We had been out at friends for dinner, on arriving home, Ash and Lexie were patiently waiting on the verandah for us, and I looked behind and this sweet little girl was there, oh dear, what was one to do, I asked around the neighbourhood, no luck so far, so she is temporarily staying in my daughter's room until we can find her a home or get a shelter to take her in.

She is adorable, a real fiesty little girl, bites a lot, but friendly and sleeps on you, eating well, looks healthy enough, and using a dirt box.

I have advertised her with pic on the local shop around the corner and in the newspaper tomorrow and at the spca, incase someone is missing their baby.

Wish me luck in finding her owners, or a new home, Yes I know You all want me to keep her, but I am afraid I cannot do that, in the meantime, she is in good hands, my daughter is on school holidays, has a friend over and they are entertaining her 24/7, bit afraid she may get a bit spoilt with all this undivided attention.

Right be prepared to be in love, here goes the pics.

P.S any advice would be appreciated re her care, I am told five small meals a day, she is around 6 to 8 wks guessing, should I deflea her? what if she has already been done? will it harm her? she has a small injury on her tail, but it is not looking bad, bleeding, or weeping, very dry and healed looking.

I have kept Trinity away in isolation from my kitties, but I have to tell you Lexie is right put out, she was at the door hissing and spitting, when I picked her up this morning she growled at me, has never done that in the 2 years I have owned her, and made these funny miaows at me, not very happy about this intruder , who she thinks is taking her throne, Ash is not too bothered , just sniffs around, and goes on with his daily business-sleeping.

I thought my Lexie would be so good, as she is such a sweet natured girl, but I guess she feels threatened, I have assured her she is still my princess and always will be.

Now more pics for you to fall in love again.

Carole, What a cutie! She looks older than 8 weeks (eye color usually changes from blue to their adult color by then). The pictures are HUGE, so I can't really see her well. She looks adorable! Do you have a flea comb to check for live fleas on her? It wouldn't hurt to putsome flea stuff on her if she has live fleas on her. Is she possibly one from those neighbors who have the litter of babies outside?

Thanks QSA, I really had no idea how old she was, just guessing, no she is not one of the kitties at the back, that gave me the great opportunity to go see her, and we took pics of her kitties that we had taken to her.

Unfortunately it turns out the cats and the kittens are outside permanently, they did have shelter under a sofa, but I see its gone, she said it was her daughters, she says she loves animals so much, right, all the kitties are very scared as is the mother, cannot get up to them, she appears to keep Charles a brown cat inside, he was in a nice warm kitty bed when we visited, when I asked do you not keep them inside, she said oh no they would poop and pee everywhere, she is in a two bedroomed place right by the roadside, she said I am scared they will get run over, she found homes for two of them just a few houses away from me, I thought it might be their kitty, but alas no, but found out they have five cats, took two of her kittens, and have adopted Ginge, a ginger friendly young tom who I once found in my pram in the carport, he has been nuetered now AMEN. and good on them.

She is going to take them to the SPCA, so she says, well I tried to convince her to take them to the no kill shelters if possible, but on ringing them they are all full and won't take them unless she spays her cat, they will only charge 40 dollars which is very good., I have not been back yet to tell her, but I am going to see what she thinks, but its not promising for them or this sweet girl as this time of year shelters are overloaded.

One of the petstores may take her, if they sell the others, I cannot afford to keep her, but will try my darnest to find her the perfect home.

Here are the other kitties, how old do you think these ones are Qsa?

Hard to tell Carole, anyway to resize the pics? Looks like three months anyway. I sure hope the woman smartens up, and doesn't leave all these kittens and cats outside to keep reproducing. Aren't there any laws about vaccinating etc? I know here, if you feed strays, they are considered your cats, and if neighbors put up a stink, and contact the Board of Health the people feeding can be fined $100.00 a day for feeding them unless they have proof of rabies vaccination. I sure hope those little ones can be rescued before they're killed.

Oh My Gosh....She is absolutely adorable.

I hope and pray that you find the owners, even though they don't deserve this sweetie if they let her outside at such a young age, or a better home.

They do look about 3-4 months of age to me.

Ok sorry I have no way of re-sizing the pics, I think they might be nearer 2 to 2 half months, I am not sure how long ago it was that i noticed there were young kittens there and how little they were.

Yes I am concerned, I don't think she has any attention of spaying her cat, and frankly I don't want litters roaming the streets either, I did leave her a note and told her our shelters will only accept the kittens if she spays the mother, they will do it cheap for 40 dollars, geez I will even pay half if it comes down to it, the other thing I worry about if it does get spayed, she will just leave it outside after the operation, that thought worries me sick.

QSA we don't have rabies in NZ, so no vaccination required, no law requires you to vaccinate for cat flue etc, it is up to the cat owner, mine both have it yearly, you cannot put them in a cattery without it anyhow.

For now I have to concerntrate on finding little Trinity a home, she is a special wee girl, she is fast asleep with a full belly right now, she is so darn pretty,I only wish I could afford to keep her myself, it is going to pull my heart strings so bad to give her away, but then I only hope i can find her owners or new ones,my husband thinks we should try to find her owners if possible, but as I said and agree with you, she is better off in a new home, if they let her out at such a young age, mind you I suppose she could have accidentally got out.

QSA trouble with those other kittens are they are not tame, and they are even harder to home, if she takes them to the local SPCA, they will probably end up euthanized, as they have a full quota of kittens right now, and people dump them this time of year as well, maybe Trinity was dumped, who knows, the poor wee things would have been better off not born, if only she smartens up and gets that cat spayed.

I find this situation so fustrating, people like her call themselves animal lovers, but really they don't know the meaning of the word. GRRRR.........

    Trinity has a new home.......

I am so pleased to beable to tell you all Trinity has a new home as of last night.

I would have loved to keep her Gary, but I would be doing her and my cats any favours, as I cannot afford another kitty.

Let me tell you about her new home, my daughter got on the phone and rang all her friends, and we had to wait until the end of the day, as one of her friends, friend might beable to have her, she rang back with the great news, that she could have her.

Naturally I was concerned ,hoping this special wee girl was going to a good home, but on going out there I am happy for her, she will be living in the country, with three children aged 9 to 12 years, a big sister kitty, and a dog Ben who loves cats, but he is an outdoor dog, so should not be any problems.

They agreed to take her without even seeing her, and were very happy with her, they thought she was very pretty, she will probably be going on holiday with them too, if not they will arrange something else.

They seemed to know about cats and their needs, and Trinity was well behaved at first, then she got a bit scrappy, she does seem easy going, but has a little attitude there, but it is endearing.

My daughter Melissa cryed her eyes out before we left to drop her off, I tryed re-assuring her, and told he what an excellent job she did looking after her and finding her a new home, but naturally she was still upset, I do think looking after a new kitten was a good experience though, she realised they are a bit of work.

Trinity had 24/7 atttention while she was here, but in her new home with three children it will be much the same I would think, their mother was telling them to be careful and remember she is scared (not that she was very much), so that was a good sign.

I was sad too , to see her go, but the good thing is, we can visit her from time to time, what can be better than that, I know she turned up on my doorstep, because it was meant to be.

Now if only I could help those other four kittens, I don't know that I can do anything there, they are pretty wild, and I can't take them in here, please pray for them.

What a sweet girl, Trinity is......not to mention your daughter for finding her a furrever home. Great news that you will be able to visit...which, of course, means that you need to take some updated pictures. Better yet, get her new Meowmie to join Pet Talk so we can all see this little beauty grow up.

We only had her one night and a day, but I was so protective of her, and wanted her to get the right home, I am worried now someone will ring in response to the advert i placed, I tryed cancelling it, so hopefully I got it in time before it went to print, I will feel real bad if her real owners ring up for her, still I had to make that choice, it was either take the chance they might ring, or get her a new home, I think I made the right choice., I still think whoever owned her maybe did not deserve her, as she should not have been roaming the streets at her young age.

Thanks Catnapper, your words made me feel better, last night I kept waking up thinking about her and wondering if she was ok, she was probably fast asleep with one of the children in their bed.

Oh I know Slick, that will be the greatest, yep will borrow Dad's camera many more times one thinks.
