Foster pup - Needs a name

Thought I would post some pictures of the foster pup I brought home today. I had him out in the back yard for a few minutes and snapped some pictures of him. He does not have a name yet, so if anyone has any suggestions let me know.

He is a 4 month old pit mix - very submissive. I had him in the Xpen and had Penny and Leo out and when Penny got a little "out of joint" he laid down and showed his belly. Leo was play bowing to him when he was in the Xpen so I will probably let them out together tomorrow to see how they get along. Right now he is laying in his crate taking a nap. I have him on the enclosed back porch right now until I can get all the dogs used to each other. I am going to have him here until Aug. 31st and then he is going to rescue.

As you can see he is a little thin, but he is very curious.


He loved running around in the back yard. He just got his shots today, so this is the first day he has been out of the kennels.


He is a cutie - needs a couple of weeks of good food, attention, training, and nail clipping.

Hmm. He looks like a Connor, Dante [pronounced Don-tay] or Rambo to me. Good Luck choosing a name!

If people see he's a pitt mix, a "cute" would be better for him (you know how some close minded people can be )

I think he is so pretty , you should call him Orlando after that pretty boy Orlando Bloom, he should be honoured to have such a beautiful pup named after him lol.

I like the name Chip - and you are right. It is best to give "cutsie" names to pit mixes, a kind of subliminal message.

Unfortuately, I am not going to be able to put the dogs together anytime soon. Pup has developed a case of kennel cough and until I can get him well, I don't want my other two to get it.

I am going to watch his personality another day or two and then give him a name. So far I think Connor and Chip fit him the best - but keep the suggestions coming.

Well I decided to name him Chip. Of all the names - that was the one he responded to the best. I seem to have lost my pictures, so if any of you didn't get a chance to see him:





He is definitely enjoying his time at my house. I have to keep him separate from the other two due to his kennel cough, which is a shame as Leo wants to play with him so bad - but hopefully he will be better in about a week and I can start socializing him more.

Thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions - they were all great, but invariably the dog decides.

Aww! There was a Pitt Bull at my sister Apartment Complex. We took Honey Bee, my sisters Pom over to play with him. While I was petting him I said "What Breed is He?" and the owner was like "I don't want to say." and I was like " " and then I said " He looks like a pitt bull to me! He is so cute!" and then I kissed him on his big old pitty lips and they lady stared down at me and said "Wow, most people who know he is a Pitt Bull back away from him!" LOL.

Gotta love them Pitties!!

He is ADORABLE! Chip is the PERFECT name!!

Oh my Chip is handsome pup, what a cutie.

I hope that nasty old kennell cough clears up soon, i know my Clover was not happy when she had it a couple of years back.
