    Gully Update... (pics)

I've got some new pics of the Gullmeister. As usual, all the really cool stuff happened off camera. Running as fast as he can across the wood floor, belly flopping, then sllllliiiiddddding under my rocker... Using Oz as a vault and doing a 360 flip off of him... Trying the same routine off the agility tunnel only to be quite surprised when it collapsed underneath him... Playing with the grass clippings by grabbing up mouth fulls and tossing them into the air...

I took him to the vet last Saturday and while we were checking out a lil' kid holding a shih tzu puppy and his mom came and sat down on a bench right behind us. I was focusing on writing my check, not Gully, and he let out one bark towards the shih tzu. Only one bark for him is extremely good and it was most definitely a play bark, so there was no way I would have said anything to him over it. Well the lil' kid started yelling at him. I really didn't want Gully to be having any bad experiences with people, so I didn't get angry and say anything to them. Stayed calm and turned and called Gully to me, had him "Sit" and then gave him a treat. Oh my gosh, did the mom give me a dirty look.
Guess she figured he shouldn't be rewarded. The lil' kid was clutching the shih tzu to his chest for dear life and she ushered them both away from us. There's a neurotic dog in the making. I've never experienced anything even remotely like that with Oz. I just wonder if it's due to Gully's coloring. Hopefully it was an isolated incident.

Anyway he goes to his first puppy class this coming Saturday, so hopefully he'll have a bunch of good experiences with people and other dogs. It's quite a big class. 11 dogs. The breeds that I know of so far in the class are 2 Boxers, 2 Beagles, Border Collie, Papillion and a Pit Bull. And the people are of all different kinds of nationalities and age groups. Good variety of socialization for him, much more so then Oz's class, which was so small. Can't wait for Saturday.

    here's the pics:

Notice how Gull's paws at 14 weeks are almost as big as Oz's

    That's it...

Wow! He sure is growing like a weed! I love seeing pictures of your boys! They're so handsome.

Wanted to get another Smoothie to match with Oz instead of a Rough coat, eh?

I love this picture. Brotherly love.

    Thanks for sharing, Par!!

    hi goldenretr!

Oh I love the roughs, but just really don't want all that grooming. Oz is so easy, just had go with another smoothie.

    hola cincy's mom!

I know I feel like he's on some growth hormone or something. I looked at him yesterday and wondered where my lil' puppy went. He's almost too heavy to pick up now.

    Thank ya Huskies_for_me!

They're exactly like the Roughs, except for coat length. Although I've had several breeders and instructors tell me that they think the Smoothies have more working instinct and energy than the Roughs, but that's more or less a subjective opinion.

Oh gosh! He's growing so fast! He'll grow into his ears soon, I bet!

I *thought* I was set on a rough blue as my third dog but you're tempting me to change for a smoothie..

Par, loved the pictures! Thanks so much for showing us growing and handsome Gully man. Loved the pics of him with Oz especially, I can't wait to see them both together as adults. What an amazing pair they will be! Every time I see your boys, it brings back memories of my rough boys. I sure enjoy seeing them.
