Dog Class Question(Need answer quick)

What is positive/negative reinforcement? Thats Jasper's trainers methods We're leaving in 15 mins to go to the free class to see if we think it would help him!

Pos reinforcement/lots of treats/maybe clicker training/ is focusing only on what you want them to do and rewarding the behavior you want. Ignore what you don't want.

Negative reinforcement involves much more controlling/punishing - it used to be the only way. I've read some horrible way trainers used to teach dogs not to do something.

Sort of like the difference between "breaking" a horse and the horse whisperer concept, if you're familiar with that.
