    Zoo pictures

I took a lot of pictures when my grandaughter and I went to Chester Zoo last Saturday, though some of them were no good at all and some were only ok at best. My excuse, and I am sticking to it, is that it is the first time I have used the digital camera in such an outdoor setting. And as for the indoor ones (reptiles)...well, there was reflections from the glass.
Anyway here are some of them.

This is a fully grown Komodo Dragon and he is huge! He doesn`t look too big in this picture but that is because his specially built enclosure on the Islands in Danger site is also huge.

A third of the pictures are from the Reptile house but I will only post one of them here.....such a cutie!

Well, Dannielle and I thought so!

The rest of the pictures I kept are here Zoo visit

Looks like a fun day. I haven't been to a zoo in such a long time. Thanks for the reminder. We may go later today.

Hubby and I went to the zoo today. I took pics but it is a real film camera. My hubby wont get me a digital camera because the camera I have now was 500$ and he doesn't want to spend that much for another camera, I don't blame him. But as soon as I get the film devoloped I will post pictures.

P.s. I didn't like our zoo, they had lions, tigers, and bears oh my, but none of those animals were in their "normal animal setting" which kinda bugged me. We stayed for an hour or 2 right before we left we seen the tigers and the lions after that we left.

    Thanks!

Katie, I am sorry your experience of the zoo you went to was a negative one. It makes me so mad and so very sad when I hear of zoos not doing their best for the animals in their care.
The zoo that I went to, Chester Zoo, is a really excellent one. All the animals are extremely well cared for, and their enclosures, living conditions etc, are some of the best you will find anywhere. This link explains their policy and aims better than I can.

Beautiful pics! I've been to Chester Zoo! Its wonderful! Back when I was about 8 years old, my uncle used to live in Wales and we were spending the summer there with him. He took us to Chester Zoo and we spent practically all day there. It was wonderful! I really enjoyed going there and still remember, even though I was just 8. We took pics but they are all with my uncle. I kind of lost our copies when we moved to this house.

Wonderful pictures of the zoo! With all the hot weather in places around the world, I would want to join those elephants under that waterfall and just stay all day!!!

PCB, it is so great that you remember your visit to Chester Zoo! It is even better there now, especially with Islands in Danger and Spirit of the Jaguar - who I didn`t get to see, the Jaguars I mean, they stayed out of sight. And the bird sections are wonderful, I didn`t get any good pictures though. This Blue Macaw picture was about the best so you can tell how bad the others were!

Btw, my grandaughter, Dannielle, who went with me is nearly 8 and it was her second visit. Last time we went she was 5 and has been wanting to go back ever since! She loves it there too, I think it could become a yearly event for us.
