Prayers Please (there could be something wrong)

I have faith that things will be OK and I trust God completely.

But I need prayers please. I had to go to the ER again for my stomach pain last Wednesday and they admitted me. They did a CT scan and think my intestines are inflamed. I was out on Friday and my dr. put me on a food sensitivity diet (something that he was pretty positive would make my pain go away). I've addressed the stress in my life and have been feeling good and happy.

Today...my pain is coming back. I need prayers for everything to be treatable in the least evasive way possible. I will most likely be having a colonoscopy. But, I am prepared for that, I can do it. My concern is for what they find.

    Please, please pray for me.

    Thank you!

    Love, Kelly

Oh Kelly, I do so understand your pain and the fear. I too have stomach pain, mine has been diagnosed as a partial obstruction in my small intestine. I had ovarian cancer 3 years ago and had a hysterectomy and now have scar tissue which is causing my condition. I was terrified that it was back, but thank goodness it wasn't. It is extremely painful whenever I eat something I shouldn't like anything high in fiber, or that's hard to digest.

Keep your chin up and I will be praying for a simple answer to your problem and relief for the pain. Let us know what they find out as soon as you know.

    Thank you Micki,

A partial bowel obstruction. I wonder if that is what I have. On the CT scan, the doctor said it looked like there was an obstruction, but couldn't see anything that was obstructing it.

The diet I am on does have a lot of fiber in that I eat rice, veggies, fruits, oats and some fish. Interesting...it seems with these stupid stomach things, they never know what it is. Its very frustrating.

Thank you for your information and your prayers.

It is EXTREMELY frustrating! I went to 3 different Dr.s before I found my current Dr. They Dr.s before told me I had Irritable Bowel Syndrom and to eat a lot of fiber. Now I know that eating fiber is a death sentence for me!! When I went to Dr. Wolfe and told him my symptoms, he asked if I had ever had abdominal surgery. When I told him I had, he just started nodding his head. He knew right away. Of course, he had several tests done to rule out anything else, but we're now sure what the problem is, and since I've changed my diet I've had no more episodes of pain.

I wish you only the best and I hope you get a quick diagnosis.

Are you seeing a specialist? If not, I recommend going to one.

Before a I had my biopsy discovering I had endo, I had an colonoscopy done. It's not so bad really.

I hope and pray they find the cause of what is hurting you. Being in pain is no fun, I know that for a fact!

Thank you!! I need that reassurance that the colonoscopy isn't that bad. I think that if I'm in "la la land", I'll be OK.

Oh dear. I never knew you weren't well and I'm so sorry to hear that. I know how much stomach pains can hurt. They are awful and destroy your appetite, and the worst part is the docs neve know what it is. I know this one kid who had stomach problems after returning from a trip. He was only 7 years old and it took the doctors 6 months to find out. They kept telling his parents its a stomach flu. He couldn't eat, was really suffering for 6 months. Eventually they found out it was a bacterial infection after he lost 15 pounds (and he was already VERY thin) and started treatment. I pray your stomach pain is nothing serious.

This reminded me....I've never had a colonoscopy, but I did have it from the other end. I don't remember what they called it, but they went in through my mouth to see if I had ulcers or what might be causing my pain - turns out it was Acid Reflux - but what I wanted to say was that the test was a piece of cake. I think they do the same thing for a colonoscopy. They don't really "put you out" but they give you something so you can follow instructions and can cooperate with them if they need you to turn or whatever, but you don't remember anything afterwards. They make sure you have someone to drive you home because even after recovery you might not be all there. With me, the doc came in the recovery room and told me what they found and that I was good to go - guess it was about a 10 minute conversation, and I don't remember a minute of it! It's a good thing Terry was there so he could re-tell me everything the doc said afterwards. He said it was funny that I didn't remember because I was actually talking to the doc, answering and saying that yes, I understood everything - and I don't remember a bit of it!

I think they do something similar with the colonoscopy - not quite sure - but if they do it should be a piece of cake.

sometimes just waiting to find the cause is the worst of all. Will have you in my prayers until you are better. Take care. And when you get a chance, snuggling kitties always helps.

Oh Kelly, I was certain this new diet would work out for you! I sure hope they can find out for sure what is bothering you so you don't have to deal with such unpleasant pains in the you know where!
I can come down for support if you would like for me to, if you get this colonoscopy done. Yikes!! Sorry, people...that's an exit...not an entrance!
That just doesn't sound like fun, but hopefully, like others have mentioned...you won't remember most of it.
Lots of love and **hugs** are on the way and I hope to see you sometime soon!

Thank you everyone. I'm still waiting for my dr. to call me back...I hate the waiting part.

I'm going to ask him about consulting a GI on this...I don't think this can be cured by just eating certain foods.

I'm almost happy to have that glorious colonoscopy done. If I don't feel it, I can do it. If I do it, maybe they'll figure everything out and I can be sent on my merry way. Pray for that, please.

Thank you again. Your support is so helpful.

    Kelly,

I'm sorry you're having so much pain. And I know how frustrating it can be not knowing what's causing it.

As far as the colonscopy goes, now that I just turned 50, I'm going to have to have one done once I get a job and get health insurance. They say the worse part is the preparation for the procedure, drinking some icky stuff and hanging out in the bathroom all day. But you'll be in lala land when the procedure is done so not to worry.

I'm sending prayers your way and will light a candle at church tomorrow. You're in my thoughts, hon. We're all here for you.
