    Reverend's Retirement Weekend

Here Reverend Lafave on Saturday night with his new Grandson Asher Haydon Lafave who will be 2 weeks old on Wednesday, the reverend's son Ben Lafave is the one in the green shirt,Asher's sister Cailyn is the first girl running behind the table and a picture of as sign that says Joe's Private Parking,it had to do with a fellow member at the church who parked in his spot one day and now that her is retired, can put this sign anywhere. The Potluck dinner was good,I had Beans,Lasagna,Chicken Fingers and Caesar Salad and Raspberry Pie for dessert. After dinner,we had entertainment, one member Dave Espeut did a great version of What a Wonderful World by Louie Armstrong, two others David and Carol Laing did On The Wings of a Snow White Dove,a group of Choir members did my Favorite Things from The Sound Of Music, another member Anna Luckai did a version of Janis Joplin's song Lord,Won't You Buy Me a Mercedes Benz. This past year for 2 or three months,we gave away prizes at the end of the month, Reverend Lafave would kid the prize was a Mercedes Benz.We had the last service yesterday,it was a sad one,I had a few tears,we had a few who came a long way to see Joe,his younger brother Bob was there.Reverend Lafave baptized his Grandson then he carried him around to show him off,we then had Communion,we all went up ,Joe greeted us then I took the bread from Mom,then juice from another member Allan Mote. There was an open house in the afternoon,Mom went Marlene,I stayed home to walk Heidi.Reverend Lafave is still on until the end of the month,he officiates at a funereal tomorrow, our new Reverend Tim Dayfoot starts on the weekend.
