    Flood Pics.

The attached four photos show how quickly the floods happened on a farm at Helidon (about 40 km from Brisbane )on Monday 10.01.2011.
There has never been water on this cultivation before.

Lockyer Creek runs behind the cultivation.
The times on the photos say it all.....22 minutes between the first and last shots.

The farm is upstream from Grantham which got the full force of this creek, and another creek (Flagstone Creek) which joins into it just before Grantham!!!

Um, they don't have their camera date set properly.

I mean, Wom, I KNOW you folks are ahead of me here in the USA, but even you guys aren't in October 2011 yet!

WOW, floods happen quickly, but to SEE it like this, time lapsed in a way, just . . . WOW.

Wow, that's really bad flooding. Is the water receded now?

Many places in other parts of the world use the day/month/year format.

They do dates there the other way around from how we do them: day/month/year (10/1/11) rather than month/day/year (1/10/11).

In answer to your questions girls...........

Freedom: Our camera times are set right.....yours are wrong.
I mean...what comes first ??? The day or the month ????

Pembroke Corgi: Yes the water has receded, and it doesn't take long to do
    that either.
Time for the cleanup to begin.

lvpets 2000: A few hours drive north of here was the closest to us.

Catty1: You can bet your bippy that human/domesticated stock/wildlife
were lost.......not so many human lives, but heaps of animals.
The pics following will give a little bit of an idea of what happened.

    The waters rise

And smash everything in the way

Some get out fast, they were the lucky ones

Even the snakes try to escape (this a Brown Snake, one of the deadliest snakes in the world)

Cold chicken....... anyone ???? Sorry....no fries

Today the traffic on the main road through the Brisbane Business District is nowhere to be seen.

Even the crocs swim in and gorge themselves on dogs in Rockhampton.

    And for some....it's beer'o'clock.

Don't put them too far away until you know things are really over. I'm sure you'll need a few shovels and garbage bags to help clean up the mess for now... yeah yeah, I know, it takes more than a shovel and bags for that
