Latch Hook Cat Rug Gift - Photo

Back in September, my mom gave me a kitty latch hook rug kit. I wasn't able to do the rug myself because my fingers do not seem to work the way they used to doing crafts. On Thanksgiving mom brought the finished product over. It turned out way more beautiful than I had expected and curioiusly resembles my Mama Cat.

I have made several hook rugs, at least one of a cat. They are fun to work, I am sorry your fingers don't cooperate any longer. Many of mine are put away just now, as Lacey and RB Vita both insisted rug are to p on. I can' even keep a rug in my bathroom, Lacey immediately christens it -- and she IS house trained!

Anyway, a few, I use a hangings instead of rugs. I bought a wood dowel at Home Depot, didn't both varnishing it or anything. It is just 1 inch shorter than the width of the rug. I stitched it by hand to the back top of the rug, and it also serves as the 'hanger.'

What a cute design! I haven't done latch hook in some time and actually miss it. There's one in my powder room of a sail boat in the sunset, my sister had one I did for years of a hot air balloon in her bathroom...I just haven't seen the kits lately. Good job!
