    Mountain "Don't"?

And people wonder why I refer to people who wear piercings around industrial equipment as future Darwin award winners.................

I'm glad this kid wasn't in Carpentry class.
He might have cut his own head off and sue the teacher for not warning him of the dangers of a hacksaw.

Not sure whether the kid, the teacher or both are to blame here, but I am sure the parents don't think it is their precious child's fault, hence the lawsuit.

I know the dangers of electricity were discussed in a far lower grade than that at my school ... is there no sense of personal responsibility anywhere?

Here's the suit in a nutshell:

IF the teacher knew about the piercings........

He was allowing the student to violate CFR 1910.135(?) subpart s which mandates what precautions are to be taken when exposed to any voltage above 50V potential to ground.

He was also allowing students to access live voltage, exposure to environmental hazards....ad nauseum.

ANY shop class these days is a rolling lawsuit waiting to happen, as I sincerely doubt all safety standards are followed, and even if the entity is not directly subject to OSHA, there are still safety standards to be followed.

You all missed the point of the story.

Did he get the Mountain Dew?

I apologize...It behooves me to think that a teen doesn't already know about e-leck-trih-cih-tee and the possibility of getting hurt while playing with it.

    THese days?

Anytime an adult wants to give you something like candy, soda or wants you to jump in the car and help you look for his lost dog?

It's probably the only time you should tell an adult, "no thanks" or "Are you crazy, I am gonna call the cops if you don't buzz off......"

THat is something you learn in second or third grade.

In a strange sense maybe it's better this way.

He could have graduated, gone on to have a wife, 6 kids and a huge mortgage.....

    Wait a second?

WHERE DID A 17 year old punk learn about nipple clamps?

I rest my case, your honor.

Yeah. My 5 yr old cousin even know that you shouldn't touch wires without an elder's permission. I think he should have a mental check up and so should his parents if they are allowing him to sue his teacher.
