    More Horror from Orem Utah

    The home of Gary Gilmore!

A 70 year old woman was 'roughed up ' during an arrest for refusing a citation for..........

A brown lawn. It's against the law to let your lawn turn brown, she could not afford the extra 50 bucks so she let it go...until an Orem P.O. took her in.

She had scratches on her face and arms in the pictures I saw......another reason to skip the Beehive State!

Yeah, I don't quite understand the large amount of Utah-related posts, either? Stupid and shocking things happen in EVERY state. Every state has cities with stupid ordinances or laws. Certainly not a reason to "skip" Utah.

Having visited and stayed in Utah numerous times, I do believe it's a state worth visiting. I certainly wouldn't give up the chance to visit or move there.

I searched for this story, and it is indeed true, however the reason she had "scratches" on her face/arms is because she tripped and fell - according to the articles I found.

Set ablaze the billboards and their advertisements
Love with all your hearts and never forget
How good it feels to be alive
    And strive for your desire"

Gee, I guess people from UTAH don't have much of a sense of humor, eh?
I could care less about Utah. As a matter of fact, Utah is such a boring place you never hear about anything stupid going on there-the only reason I'd bring it up.

Living in Cah lee fuh nee ah, where stupidity abounds, it refreshes me to hear about places where "nothing like this ever happens" has it happen!

Feel free to take a shot across my bow. I can't follow every Lost Angeles news cast.

Anyway, you have to laugh about a state that has two vowels and two letters in it's whole name.

You'd never see that as a puzzle on Wheel of Fortune!

    -------------

    K,
Putting a 70 year old woman in handcuffs isn't the smartest thing to do-anywhere in the United States. First of all, if your local police force has the time to cite people for a LAWN INFRACTION, the city council needs to grant more business permits for donut shops.

    Second,
If you hang around anyone over the age of seventy you'll find out that some of them have a real hard time with balance. A 70 y.o. does not have the bone density of a younger person-which leads to broken bones.

Many people, of age, fall and break bones every day. The results are not pretty and can LEAD TO DEATH, not from the broken bone, but from complications.

    --------------

Stupidity and zealotry infect the planet.

I live minutes away from Hollywood, we have the market is cornered.
We also have our share of stupid cops too. We shoot people out here for less.

A radio station here does "Stupid News from around the world" a couple times a week.

I kind of took the post as one of those reports. Because, it is stupid of the police officer to treat a 70 year old woman that way. Especially over a LAWN. Now if she were out dealing drugs, sure! But over a lawn? Not even.

I guess I'll ask Mitt to refund the donation that I made.

    -------------

I kinda doubt if people will believe an idiot in Lost Angeles telling people to stay out of Utah.

Another reason I pick on Utah is that MISSISSIPPI and MASSACHUSETTS are too long to type, Wyoming, I can barely spell and Hawaii has 4 vowels and two letters.

I have no sense of direction, so that excludes the DAKOTAS and CAROLINAS.

I have a soft spot for states that begin and end in an "A", so Alaska, Arizona are on the "No Joke List".

I apologize if I have sullied your state.

I do not apologize for sullying the idiot cop.

I often skate on thin ice........Does it snow in Utah?

I think you guys are being too sensitive about this. It was meant as a joke.

Hey, Richard! Feel free to joke about Alaska anytime. We love to tell stories on ourselves. And it is practically REQUIRED to have a sense of humor if you're gonna live in a place that has snow on the ground 7 months out of the year!

It's been known to snow on Memorial Day, the 4th of July........ Remind me again, why I live here.

I think Richard's post was mean't in a light hearted manner too, besides everyone who has ever visited the state of Utah, myself included knows what a beautiful place it is, i have been to orem where this took place, and as pointed out every state has these types of going on's,phew glad in NZ we have one law for the whole country, makes it a darn site easier, mind you we are very small.

So take it how it was mean't,hey they joke about NZ having more sheep than people here, and guess what it is true.

I guess when you live in a state like New Joizy you get used to being the object of jokes. I honestly don't think Richard meant anything by it other than to poke fun at a police force with nothing much to do. If anything that tells you there isn't much serious crime going on there and that's a compliment.

    OUCH!!

This was all meant to be a joke, I do believe you were the one to take offence to this first.

This thread would have not turned this ugly if the story came from....Arizona or somewhere else, and believe me, we have some VERY stupid criminals - um, make that people, that live here!

Stupid stories come out of every town, city and state Richard just happened upon this one and he thought he'd share it with everyone -

***Note to Richard - no more Utah stories!!
