    Good Little Horse KittyHawk!:)

This beautiful horse here is KittyHawk!

She is about 15 or 16 years old and is half arabian half quarter horse. KittyHawk isn't actually my horse, she is my very bestfriend's horse whom I love so much. I thought I would write a little something about my favorite horse so that some people could get to know her and what she is going through. Cause see KittyHawk actually has an interesting story to tell.

KittyHawk has been my bestfriend's companion for almost all her life. The wonderful horse was someone that my bestfriend would run to when she was sad, go to when she was happy and spend lots of time with. And KittyHawk always happily listened to her.

But then one day something really sad happened. My friend and her family doesn't have loads of money and her mother wanted her to give KittyHawk away. So after a few weeks Becky finally gave KittyHawk away to her neighbour down the road. Of course she was very happy that Kitty was only down the road from her and that she could trust her neighbour to be a good horse owner.

Unfortunately she found out that her neighbour wasn't trust worthy. She hadn't gotten to see KittyHawk in a couple of months because of being busy with work, but one day she really wanted to see Kitty so she made some time to go down to her neighbours and what state she found KittyHawk in was terrible! KittyHawk looked like she hadn't eaten in days, weeks!

This pic shows from front view how skinny she was.

Not only did Kitty have bones sticking out everywhere, but she had rainrot all over her back and her legs and her legs also had mud caked almost an inch thick to them. So she asked if she could have her horse back and thankfully they said yes, so she took Kitty back home and then called me. As soon as I heard the news I rushed down to her house and we both examined KittyHawk in such sadness.

After looking her all over we also found many wounds and scars. After we got right to work on making her better. We knew the best thing to do first was to bath her and feed her to get her tummy fuller and get the awful dirt and mud off of her. So while my bestfriend cleaned her, I fed her and she ate constantly! It was so amazing how much she was begging for food each time I came to her. When my friend was washing her, we found the mud was caked so hard to her legs that when she went to take it off, all that was underneath the mud was bare skin. It was so sad. And the even sadder part was that she was supposed to be pregnant. Well, after her going through all that, we figured that the baby probably hadn't survived becuase it didn't get any nutrients to grow. After we washed her all down she looked much better and she seemed a little happier.

For the next month to two months we watched her constantly, making sure she was only improving and not getting worse. And thankfully she was gaining more weight almost everyday. This is what she looked like just after one week.

I always brought her lots of treats out everytime I seen her. And after awhile we suddenly noticed something that we were both so happy to see! KittyHawk is pregnant! The baby survived!! We noticed that Kitty's stomach was getting bigger, and she had a lump around the area that her whom is and now to this day she is fat lol because of the baby! We are so overjoyed. The baby should be coming around May and we are going to make sure that one of us is watching her at every minute when its almost time for her to have it! I can't wait! Here are some more pics of Kitty. Unfortunately I don't have any pics of her with her fat belly yet. But when I get some I will post them!

    Anyways, that is KittyHawk's story!

wow...I heart Quarabs. I ride a dapple grey Quarab named Honey...She's awesome And i'm sure Kittyhawk is too. Isn't it wonderful what a little tlc and food can do to improve a horses physical being? How tall is she? The piccies look like she can't be over 15.2hh...I don't think Quarabs get very tall to begin with...im just interested

I hope to see piccies of the baby. You and your friend should get a reward or something. I know money is a problem with having horses. I had a problem like that with my dog, who happened to be deaf, and i gave him to my moms friend and I went to see him one day and he was so skinny...next time I heard about him he wasn't even at her house anymore...she gave him away. Good thing your friend got her back. It would have been such a loss
Owned by Titus, Bob, Alice, Trixie, Honey, Chesterfield, Al, Oreo, Dave, Ed, and Tyr!
In two short months I will have my dream horse, Cesar!

How can someone do that to a horse? Especially one as pretty as Kittyhawk! (lol I love all horses) I'm so glad her and her future baby are gonna be okay! She's soooo pretty! There aren;t any horse at my barn that look like her, she's very unique! I love when stories like that have such happy endings, I really do.

What a wonderful thread of Kitty. It truly was an awful thing when we saw her. But it was fun cleaning her and being able to get up close to a horse like that and get to know her. It's good that she is all better now and that the baby is coming! That's great news! You're gonna have to take some pictures of fat Kitty as soon as you can.

Aww, thank all you guys so much! You all care so much! And KittyHawk is I think just 14 hands something lol, you're right, she's not that tall! And I can't wait to take pics of the baby when it comes. I just hope that the baby will be born healthy. I know, I agree with all you, I dont' know how anyone can ever abuse or mistreat any animal it makes me want to cry just thinking of somethings I've heard. Anyways thanks again!
