Two days ago I was missing a little solid black 5-week old kitty. After looking for him (Nightshade) I thought he was hiding somewhere in the house. But the next day, still no Nightshade! His littermate Shadow are nearly impossible to tell apart, so, I thought, that I was actually looking at both of them at two different times. However, the next morning my neighbor came over calling to me through the front window. She had Nightshade in her hands! She said that he was on her doorstep (nearly 700 ft away) and was waiting for her to rescue him. Needless to say I was a bit dumbfounded, because I cannot, for the life of me, remember seeing him go out the door, and what is more, that if one furkid gets out, there have been others also. (But this time, not so!) However I was very thankful to her for bringing him back to me, and considering the time he was outside (appx 24- 36 hours) and all the dangers out there at night, that he was also safe. Because, if he had been taken in a nighttime maurauder's raid, I would not have known what could have happened to him.So far, he hasn't made any other advances to get outside
