    Your State / Province/ Territory / Country

I love geography and I love to travel. Tell me something interesting about where you live.... I'll start. I live in Alaska. It is the largest state in the United States. Here's a map showing Alaska in relation to the rest of the U.S.

586,400 square miles - We are 2 times the size of Texas
    We have 29 volcanoes
    33,000 miles of coastline!
    1,400 miles North to South
    2,700 miles East to West
    Over 1/2 the world's Glaciers
    55 miles east of Russia
We are the only state to have coastlines on three different seas.
(Arctic Ocean, Pacific Ocean and Bering Sea.)

-Iroquois, bred at Nashville's Belle Meade Plantation, was the first American winner of the English Derby in 1881. Such modern thoroughbreds as Secretariat trace their bloodlines to Iroquois.
-Tennessee won its nickname as The Volunteer State during the War of 1812 when volunteer soldiers from Tennessee displayed marked valor in the Battle of New Orleans.
    - The Tennessee Aquarium is the largest facility of its kind to focus on fresh water habitat. It features 7,000 animals and 300 species of fish, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals.
    - The largest earthquake in American history, the New Madrid Earthquake occurred in the winter of 1811-12 in northwestern Tennessee. Reelfoot Lake located in Obion and Lake Counties was formed during this earthquake.
-Tennessee has more than 3,800 documented caves.
    - Dolly Parton is a native of Sevierville. A major highway, the Dolly Parton Parkway, takes visitors traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park
-TN is bordered by 8, yes 8, states!

I live in Minnesota.. I decided to include some things other than land mass/population type info that I thought might be interesting about my state!

    * The Mall of America in Bloomington is the size of 78 football fields --- 9.5 million square feet.

    * Minnesota Inventions: Masking and Scotch tape, Wheaties cereal, Bisquick, HMOs, the bundt pan, Aveda beauty products, and Green Giant vegetables

    * Minneapolis is home to the oldest continuously running theater (Old Log Theater) and the largest dinner theater (Chanhassan Dinner Theater) in the country.

    * The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is the largest urban sculpture garden in the country.

    * Minneapolis’ famed skyway system connecting 52 blocks (nearly five miles) of downtown makes it possible to live, eat, work and shop without going outside.

    * Minneapolis has more golfers per capita than any other city in the country.

    * The climate-controlled Metrodome is the only facility in the country to host a Super Bowl, a World Series and a NCAA Final Four Basketball Championship.

    * Minnesota has 90,000 miles of shoreline, more than California, Florida and Hawaii combined.

    * The first open heart surgery and the first bone marrow transplant in the United States were done at the University of Minnesota.

    * In 1919 a Minneapolis factory turned out the nations first armored cars.

    * Tonka Trucks were developed and are continued to be manufactured in Minnetonka.

    * Minnesota has one recreational boat per every six people, more than any other state.

    * There are 201 Mud Lakes, 154 Long Lakes, and 123 Rice Lakes commonly named in Minnesota.

    * Minnesota's waters flow outward in three directions: north to Hudson Bay in Canada, east to the Atlantic Ocean, and south to the Gulf of Mexico.

    * At the confluence of the Big Fork and Rainy Rivers on the Canadian border near International Falls stands the largest Indian burial mound in the upper midwest. It is known as the Grand Mound historic site.

    * The first official hit in the Metrodome in Minneapolis was made by Pete Rose playing for the Cincinnati Reds in a preseason game.

    * Polaris Industries of Roseau invented the snowmobile.

Very agricultural in the north, called the "Prarie State" for it's historic praries, which through succession after being cut down have turned into temperate forsests. In the south it is hilly.

We are the lil dark blue state down the bottom .

Victoria is the smallest and most densely populated of the mainland states in Australia (the island state of Tasmania, offshore to the south is smaller). Melbourne the Victorian capital, dominated by trams, is a mixture of old European elegance and new-world style. It is easy to travel around this compact State, affectionately called the Garden State, and Victoria is perfect for a touring holiday as it is complimented by a comprehensive road network.

Sice I consider Arizona my home state here a few things not to do while visiting as the are laws

Donkeys may not sleep in bathtubs

A misdemeanor is considered a felony if you commit it while wearing a red mask.

You can be hung for horse rustling

You may not hunt camels (we have a high wild camel population)

It is unlawful to refuse a person a glass of water

You may not make "ugly faces" at dogs on Sunday

You may not call a woman unattractive after sundown
