    Which necklace?

Which necklace do you like for a 13 year olds birthday. I was wearing a simple chain with a purple stone and she told her mom see I like somthing simple like that so it gave me the idea for a necklace I got her quite a few other things too so this isn't her only gift, they were close in price although the plain heart is real silver and the pink one is silver plated.

So what do you all think, I like the pink one better but is it too goddy?

I like the simple heart for a 13 year old. She could wear it more. The other one seems more dressy and maybe too much for a young girl.

Thank you thats exactly what I thought but my husband liked the other one but he tends to like more ornate things I agree I think the other one is more appropriate but I needed another opinion.

The plain one that is real silver will last her for many years, and go with more outfits, and as it is real silver, something she can treasure as her first piece of real grown-up jewelry.

The first one is timeless, and I think she could wear it in combination with all kinds of clothes, also later as an adult. The second one is really girly and looks cute; but it needs to be matching with her dressing style...

I'd go with the plain one too. More age appropriate and something she can wear at any age.

ETA: If she really wants something with a small gemstone in it, Penney's has a lot of the small heart/gemstone ones right now with Valentine's Day next week. I saw some with red stones and also purple for the Feb birthstone.

I vote for the heart necklace too

It is timeless and all-age appropriate. IMHO simple is better.

I think the one on the right would be a very special keepsake. To me it is not too gaudy, just a different style than the one on the left. I'm still a "girly girl" even at my age, so I am going to part from the previous voters and opt for the one on the right Either way, what a special gift!

If she liked the simplicity of the necklace you were wearing then I'd say go with the small simple heart. Personally I like that one much better. I just don't dress up fancy enough to really wear the pink one too much......but that's me.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

I would go with the simple heart, the first one. More age appropriate and something that she can treasure even as she gets older-- she can wear it with just about anything and look very classy. The other one is a bit ornate for my taste.

I started this thread then went mia sorry about that my whole family got hit with the flu. My daughter voted for the small heart too I think I will go with that but I also like the pink one too. Its from Macys too which has an easy return policy so she can change it for something else if she wants.

Without question, I like the plain silver heart the best. It just is plain and classy and a perfect gift
