Aw, I like the way I spell it better!!! :D
Well, ok, just for you:
FEBRUARY 18, 2007
DAYTONA 500 !!!
YA- HOOOOOO !!!!!!!!

Just looked up the 2007 NASCAR TV Broadcast Schedule on NASCAR.com ...

NASCAR must not want me watchin their Advertisers very badly ... http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/rolleyes.gif
Starting with Daytona on Feb 18, and ending with Dover on June 3 ...
Dear ole FOX network gets the honors of exclusive rights ...
and rewards us with a *snowy* signal from Cleveland. http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/tongue.gif
THEN we get 13 Races OFF (UNless you have Cable or Dish - 'cause ONLY TNT or ESPN
cover the June 3 to September 8 Races!) I geuss I didn't wanna watch NASCAR this summer.
And to finish the season - good ole ABC jumps on the NASCAR Cash Cow and
learns how to cover a Race - we hope. They get the honors for 8 Races
covering September 16 to the Last Race on November 18. ABC Youngstown is "local" ... but sends a rather "poor" signal out to the western frontier ... http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/frown.gif
OH well ... the Dawgs weren't totally enthralled with watchin the Races ...
guess it's time to find another hobby!
/s/ http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/mad.gif Phred
I have cable and still can't get the Fox channels in real clear.
Last year I missed a lot of races because they seemed to switch channels every other weekend. I wish they would just use one station that everyone can see! :(
I am lucky enough to have cable, Sirius Satelitte radio and Trackpass on Nascar.com One way or another, I will be watching, listening to or following
online every bit of qualifying, and racing, from Truck to Busch to Nextel Cup I can find!! No, I am not obsessed!
Daytona 500 may be Feb 18, but the Shoot Out is February 10. Almost time to go racing!!!!
Well, SURE, we'll drop by on Race Days! :)Quote:

I didn't hear if anyone got hurt.... :(
#6 Hauler involved in wreck in Texas UPDATE 3 former Cup driver injured:
A NASCAR hauler carrying the #6 Roush Racing AAA Ford Fusion was involved in a multi-vehicle wreck 85 miles east of El Paso mid-morning Wednesday, according to Border Patrol officials. The accident occurred just after 9:00ammt [11:00am/et] at mile marker 102 on Interstate 10, near the Border Patrol check point outside the community of Sierra Blanca. Truck driver Jesse Bear, tells ABC-7 the tractor-trailer struck a motor home in the rear. According to ABC-7 reporter Darren Hunt, the front part of the rig's cab was completely torn off. The NASCAR hauler, owned by Roush Racing, was only transporting the AAA-sponsored racecar. Driver David Ragan was not involved in the wreck. Bear adds there were "a few other vehicles in the wreck, but everything was crushed together." Crews diverted eastbound traffic from the Interstate to an access road as crews cleaned up the scene. According to Border Patrol agents at the checkpoint, the hauler struck a motor home, which then struck another 18 wheeler, that then struck a 2nd tractor trailer. Emergency radio transmissions indicated that at least one person was rushed to Thomason Hospital with serious injuries. Emergency officials add there were 3 other persons transported to local hospitals. Emergency crews with Culberson County, Hudspeth County, and Ft. Hancock all responded to the scene of the accident. Law enforcement officials tell ABC-7 accidents of this type are not unusual for the checkpoint, as drivers aren't expecting to have to stop quickly, just off the interstate.(updated from kvia.com)
UPDATE: Roush Racing can confirm that the #6 Nextel Cup transporter was involved in a multi-vehicle accident with injuries in Sierra Blanca, TX in route from Las Vegas, NV to Concord, N.C. They will provide additional details as they become available.(Roush Racing PR)(1-31-2007)
UPDATE 2: A driver of a tractor-trailer with the NASCAR logo was critically injured in a traffic collision at the Border Patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca today, a Texas Department of Public Safety Official said. Joe Millikan, the driver of the NASCAR tractor trailer, was taken by ambulance to Thomason Hospital. Three other people, including Milliken's driving partner, suffered nonlife-threatening injuries. They also were taken to Thomason. Their names were not available, DPS dispatcher Julian Najera said. The cause of the crash has not been determined. Officials were also unable to say what vehicle the other victims were traveling in.(El Paso Times)
UPDATE 3: Two Roush Racing employees were injured in a multi-vehicle accident 85 miles east of El Paso, Texas yesterday morning. Justin Grebe, the driver of the #6 Roush Racing Nextel Cup transporter was treated and released from Thomason Hospital. Driving partner Joe Millikan, a passenger, is in stable condition in the Thomason Hospital intensive care unit. The two were returning to Concord, N.C. from a test in Las Vegas, Nev. According to local news reports, two other people also were taken to Thomason Hospital after suffering non life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash has not been determined. Roush Racing will provide additional details as they become available.(Roush Racing PR)
Millikan ran in 80 Cup races from 1974 to 1986, with 10 top-fives, 38 top-10s and one career pole. His best season was in 1979 with 20 top-10s in 31 starts [his only full season], finishing 6th in points and was 2nd in the rookie race to the late Dale Earnhardt. His best finish was a 2nd at the March 1979 Rockingham race in the #72-Hayes Jewelers Chevy.(racing-reference.info)(2-1-2007)

Thanks for the update!
Just saw on NASCAR NOW / ESPN2 that Little Dale has asked for a 51 percent share of DEI.
Apparently he wants a majority interest in the company. It's not known if he will purchase or be given the stake.
Hmmmmm....

Mikey, you baaaaaad boy you.
Kenseth and Kahne I'll give a pass to, as they don't own the cars, didn't hire their crewchiefs, etc.
Mikey? Come on, guy, when NASCAR takes the intake manifold, THEN comes back and takes the whole car, you did something wrong. You own the team, it falls 100% on you.
Amy, I see you have your priorities straight! No heat in her house but we wouldn't want to miss any Nascar!!! :D
I disagree.Quote:

If recent trends are to be believed.
The next NEXTEL CHAMP is one of the five.
What on earth is going on?????
At least 6 teams have been fined for cheating. One of them is Gordon's team. His car was an inch too close to the ground.
Another is Waltrips. I can't remember the rest. Sheese!!!! :(

I'm not sure how I feel about it. Things are are listed as against the rules should be penalized, but I think teams are always looking for an extra advantage, and if they went over every car in the field with a fine tooth comb, there would be some things found that maybe weren't specifically against the ruels, but maybe weren't exactly listed as being legal either.
I do know Tony is on a roll... Go 20!!!
Here's where I have a problem with NASCAR and their penalties.
Mark Martin had a problam 2 years ago with his car in a post race inspection. The coil length on one of the springs on his car was 1/8" too short. Not 1/8" in height, but if you straightened out the spring, the length of the straightened spring was 1/8" under spec. Absolutely NO competetive advantage whatsoever, and MIGHT have saved 1/2 ounce or so of weight.
They fined him 25 drivers points, and fined Roush $25,000.
The holes in the bolts that they fined Evernham motorsports for gave no competetive advantage, but they fined Evernham Motorsports, suspended crewchiefs, and took points. They didn't find these holes in PRE race inspection why?
The same goes for Kenseth's car. They didn't find the holes in the body work during PRE qual tech inspection?
If they passed pre qual tech, why weren't the Pre-qual tech inspectors fined?
Gordon's car, from what I've heard, wasn't an inch low overall, it was an inch low in one measurement are because a shock was improperly installed. A shock that NASCAR WATCHED the team install, as NASCAR issues and seals the shocks used on the car before qualifying.
NASCAR needs to get their act together, and stop re-writing the rule book on the fly. They also need to get their inspection process down so teams aren't getting fined by one inspector for something another inspector passed.
Ten reasons to watch the Daytona 500
Should be fun!
GO TONY GO!!!!
Hehehehe...well, that accident just made my day! :p :)
Oh man, I was on pins and needles. So close...Almost! Wish they would have thrown the caution as soon as the wreck happened...lol.
Martin handles it like the gentleman and pro that he is. :)
Congrats to Harvick!

Guuuuulp.
Somebody please pass the tissues to me and my daughter. Both of us were crying like babies on the phone together. Great job Mark!!! What a show buddy!!!
We still think Mark was ahead when the final caution was thrown. Waaa waaa waaa!! :(
CONGRATULATIONS KEVIN!!! :D
I was really pulling for mArk at the end, but I don't dislike Kevin. I was just really hoping Shrub didn't get up there and win it....but he didn't have to take out half the field losing it :D
Woo Hoo!!! Way to go, Matt Kenseth. Nice sweep!
AND, a nice 5th place finish for Mark Martin.
I'm happy :D
