Oh yeah... REALLY desperate.
http://wcbstv.com/politics/paterson.....2.813646.html
If I were a Democrat, i'd be worried about the very lame accusations. It sounds WAY desperate. LOL
"Change" my arse. OB is running a campaign that is the same as every campaign in modern history, either side.
Oh, yeah, right!!!! Like McCain isn't doing the exact same thing!!! :p Just because he picked a woman to run with him doesn't mean change. HE will be president not her if they are elected.
Wake up people. No matter who is elected, we will have the same old mess in 4 years. Until we get people in government working for the common people instead of the special interests with the money, we are in for more of the same. Notice how the problem of immagration has been silenced lately. Meanwhile, every day, thousands still sneak into the US across the borders.
True enough... But it does groom her for bigger things AND lets us she if she can stick to her guns when the heat gets turned on.
Its one thing to fight the tide as a Govenor. But fighting the tsunami that is DC politics is a beast all its own.
I want to see what happens the first time McCain wants to do something that she disagrees with. We , of course, would not see that unless McCain gets elected.
Looks like Ms. Palin is not so macha afterall!
First, her handlers won't let her talk to the press until she is treated with deference!! Why oh why should she be treated with deference??? Too dainty for hardball?
And then...Obama describes McCain's economic plan using the very same phrase McCain used to describe Hillary's medical plan and Ms. Palin's feelings are hurt????
The phrase by the way is..."Like putting lipstick on a pig."
What a delicate, fragile and sensitive thing she is!
Funny how they seldom show the rest of that speech. He went on to say you can wrap a fish in newspaper and it will still stink in a few days. Maybe he was calling her a stinky fish, not a pig! ;):D
McCain really is slipping. He used the same expression in reference to Hillary's health care plan.

Mc cain & Co. are trying their best to keep people's minds off of the real
issues this country faces. They only offer 4 more years of the same old
crap we have had for the last 8 yrs with Bush & Co. They will use any tactic,
even making up controversies where non exist.
And of course Obama didn't seize the opportunity when she mentioned lipstick in her speech the other night? Honestly, when i heard that on the news I thought "How childish!" I would really like to see some "grown up" things being said in these ads and sound bites instead of insults for the sake of insulting. If Hillary had been Obama's running mate and McCain had said such a thing do you think Obama would not have been enraged?
I think this is my last Dog House post. My daughter told me on Sunday that it is a waste of time to post here and she is correct. Peoples' minds are made up. Sayonarra! (sp?) :p
I heard the lipstick comment out of context but it seemed pretty tacky to me and I was disappointed.
ditto -
I read this thread to try to ed-u-cate myself and all that it has turned into is a pi$$ing contest against some people that I'm quite fond of. (members here) I shouldn't be surprised tho.

Sayanarra Dog House. It will be awhile before I'm back.Quote:

Where I come..the expression "to put lipstick on a pig and it will still look like a pig" is a very common expression!
And Obama used it in reference to McCain's economic plan. How does it get from there to Ms. Palin?
It's like Karen says...Is the word "lipstick" now restricted to use by McCain & Co.? Or is his camp reaching for any straw to keep Palin's gender front and center?
HEY, I do my comedy routine here and depend on the people that buy tickets.
Does this mean you all don't love me anymore?:(

Pam and Shai's Mom,
You all know about what it is to work in the Health Care Industry.
THat is one of MY BIGGEST EFFING PEEVES.
Neither one of the AHs before of since has come up with a comprehensive way to reform HC.
As we age we all have to worry about that. I am blessed in the fact that I have health care for the rest of my life. From work and whatever the government says I can have when I need it.
At this point that is enough for me to make a choice in who I vote for.
Hillary tried to reform HC, god bless her, and could not get anything off the ground because she was the wife, She then got to be senator and tried again.
BO, JM and the rest are nothing but a bunch of hacks that will tell you everything you want to know.
I'd rather pay my taxes and think that I am getting what I and the rest of the people need in HC, than to be promised a tax cut and have that money handed out to the people who didn't do shiat to earn it.
As childish as this sounds, I post in the DH so when the times comes I can go back point a finger and laugh.
The VP candidate might eat moose for dinner, but that's a whole lot better that crow.
I think I'm out of here also, though not for the same reasons as the others.
I would never vote for McCain/Palin for one simple reason - they are heartily endorsed by the current occupant of the White House.
Then there is baseball. The Sox are tied with the Rays in the 12th right now. The pennant race is in full swing and the World Series will be played and over before the election. That's where my focus is right now.
See ya -
I liked what Palin had to say until I researched her and her shooting animals out of helicopters and giving money to those who brought in the foot of a wolf. Are you kidding me.... I will not and will tell everyone who even cares for animals NOT to vote Palin. It sickens me to know we have the chance of getting worse then what we have know what are they thinking that ok Bush out and Palin in so Animals die instead of people neither is right. So if you like the librarian thing that kills animals go for it but I will NOT be one going for that ticket.
I know I said I was out of here, but this really is my last comment. Has everybody forgotten who it is that is running for president? And I'm not just speaking of the people here on PT - the MEDIA is the worst offender. It's McCain - not Palin! Granted - the position could fall upon Palin and she should be considered in everyone's choice of McCain or Obama, but let's remember it's not the Palin/McCain ticket! It would be my guess that most people know more about Palin than they do about McCain!
That's just what I was thinking myself!!! If a martian landed on earth and watched the news, he's swear she was running for the president and McCain the vp. :D
By the way, news media, there is a DANGEROUS HURRICANE heading for the gulf of the US. Drop all this Palin and election stuff for a while and concentrate on that and the people who may need help there. We don't vote until NOVEMBER!!!
Gosh, we have so many important things to be debating - election wise, and one would hope that the two parties settle down and get to the issues. I HATE the name calling and school yard fighting.
I think this thread has gone about as far as it is going to ........... and everyone has an ideas as to what party/persons they will vote for in Nov.
May the best man win.
Richard, I've read and been told that Hillary did get to test run her HC plan. It's called Tenncare and TN was the poor guinea pig for it thanks to Al Gore. It has been a disaster and has had to undergo several reforms. It's cost our state an outrageous amount of money and made it a haven for scammers and fraud not to mention hurting the quality of medical care in our state.
Here's a link to an article about it. It's the first one I found when I googled Tenncare Hillary Clinton.

Food for thought. Pay attention to the very end.
Or try this...

Funny how Charile Gibson can honestly put his name to that interview,
Try for a transcript of the WHOLE interview and see how much ABC left out.;)
A balanced perspective!!
http://www.slate.com/id/2199937/
Slate is about as balanced as Keith Olbermann.
Krauthammer is a commentator and admittedly so. Not sure if O'Reilly calls himself a journalist or a commentator, nor do I care to because I don't watch him.
But Olbermann tries to say he is a journalist, which he clearly is not. If he would just come out and say he is a liberal commentator, that would be nice.
Oreilly, Krauthammer, Limbaugh, Olberman, Buckley....
None of them are "balanced", they are commentators and entertainment, not journalists, regardless of what they may call themselves.
