The phrase by the way is..."Like putting lipstick on a pig."

What a delicate, fragile and sensitive thing she is!
And of course Obama didn't seize the opportunity when she mentioned lipstick in her speech the other night? Honestly, when i heard that on the news I thought "How childish!" I would really like to see some "grown up" things being said in these ads and sound bites instead of insults for the sake of insulting. If Hillary had been Obama's running mate and McCain had said such a thing do you think Obama would not have been enraged?

I think this is my last Dog House post. My daughter told me on Sunday that it is a waste of time to post here and she is correct. Peoples' minds are made up. Sayonarra! (sp?)

I heard the lipstick comment out of context but it seemed pretty tacky to me and I was disappointed.

Funny how Charile Gibson can honestly put his name to that interview,

Try for a transcript of the WHOLE interview and see how much ABC left out.

If that is balanced I'll chew my foot off. It may read more balanced from some people's perspectives, but not from mine.

    DUDE!

Don't do that, it's only politics!

I saw an editorial cartoon that, in part was Palin talking about the VP salary, She said that it was 221,000 dollars a year. If she was elected she'd do it for 174,000.

And that's why I bowed out and went back to my old conviction - don't talk politics or religion! It just pi$$es people off and since sometimes people tend to have "selective reading", what you say can get twisted out of context!

    ditto -
I read this thread to try to ed-u-cate myself and all that it has turned into is a pi$$ing contest against some people that I'm quite fond of. (members here) I shouldn't be surprised tho.

I hope you will stick around Pam long enough to read this. You see...McCain DID use that very same phrase in reference to Hillary. Not once, but a few times. In reference to Hillary's health care plan.

Where I come..the expression "to put lipstick on a pig and it will still look like a pig" is a very common expression!

And Obama used it in reference to McCain's economic plan. How does it get from there to Ms. Palin?

It's like Karen says...Is the word "lipstick" now restricted to use by McCain & Co.? Or is his camp reaching for any straw to keep Palin's gender front and center?

HEY, I do my comedy routine here and depend on the people that buy tickets.

Does this mean you all don't love me anymore?

    ------------

    Pam and Shai's Mom,

You all know about what it is to work in the Health Care Industry.

THat is one of MY BIGGEST EFFING PEEVES.

Neither one of the AHs before of since has come up with a comprehensive way to reform HC.

As we age we all have to worry about that. I am blessed in the fact that I have health care for the rest of my life. From work and whatever the government says I can have when I need it.

At this point that is enough for me to make a choice in who I vote for.

Hillary tried to reform HC, god bless her, and could not get anything off the ground because she was the wife, She then got to be senator and tried again.

BO, JM and the rest are nothing but a bunch of hacks that will tell you everything you want to know.

I'd rather pay my taxes and think that I am getting what I and the rest of the people need in HC, than to be promised a tax cut and have that money handed out to the people who didn't do shiat to earn it.

As childish as this sounds, I post in the DH so when the times comes I can go back point a finger and laugh.

The VP candidate might eat moose for dinner, but that's a whole lot better that crow.

I think I'm out of here also, though not for the same reasons as the others.

I would never vote for McCain/Palin for one simple reason - they are heartily endorsed by the current occupant of the White House.

Then there is baseball. The Sox are tied with the Rays in the 12th right now. The pennant race is in full swing and the World Series will be played and over before the election. That's where my focus is right now.

    See ya -

Richard, I've read and been told that Hillary did get to test run her HC plan. It's called Tenncare and TN was the poor guinea pig for it thanks to Al Gore. It has been a disaster and has had to undergo several reforms. It's cost our state an outrageous amount of money and made it a haven for scammers and fraud not to mention hurting the quality of medical care in our state.

Here's a link to an article about it. It's the first one I found when I googled Tenncare Hillary Clinton.
